I agree with what most everyone else has said as both teams are deep & have good athletes. I think the difference is East 1-5 is a little better but the real differnce maker could be if East could apply a lot of ball pressure as the one weakness Raceland has is ballhandling. It will be a good game to watch as I enjoy watching both teams. If East would force the tempo it is theirs to take

Only one may have turned in a jersey but I looked for both after the game after I heard they had quit & did not see either taking part in post game congrats among the people & or cutting down the nets etc.., but maybe I just missed it. Did anyone else see them during this time?

I like the idea, plus I would also like to see some sort of early season high school panaroma something like Montgomery Co is doing. The Expo Center in Pikeville has started one why can't MSU hold one. Maybe whoever gets the Rowan Co job might get something like this going.

I agree & lets hope Faulkner is coaching from here on because I do not think he would do what I saw Mayes do last night. Ferg leaves @ 5:02 in the 4th with a 20 point lead & re-enters with a little over 2 minutes to go & EC leading by 19. MC not showing any signs of a comeback. Then Evan had been out for a while & re-enters with 43 seconds remaining in the game & EC leading by like 17 or 19. I know I have posted a similar comment on another thread but I just cannot believe what I saw. Come on Coach Mayes it is tourney time do not foolishly get someone hurt, especially one of your vital cogs!! I am still dumbfounded by this move!!

You are correct Fanofthe11th he could get up. He dunked it easily & had good elevation on his jumper, plus he was a legit 6'2 if not 6'3. His biggest problem was foot speed & quickness which really were not even average. If he had that who knows...

He may not have scored 10 pts on Miller & I do not think anyone referenced anything like that. Ervin Stepp did not shoot a set shot ! Someone must have told you that because if you watched him I promise you never saw him shoot one. Nothing wrong with a set shot its just was not his shot. I checked KHSAA records on Monday out of curiousity because someone else mentioned Stepp in this thread. His Jr year he avg 19/31 from the field for 61%, do not recall his Sr year but I'm sure it was as good.True the "D" on him was Very weak but I assure you most of those shots were well beyond the 3pt line. Someone told me they saw him play in Lexington about 3 summers ago in a tournament & the 1st 7 trips down he was 7-7 beyond the arc with the crowd amazed. "The kid could shoot" I just cannot stand it when people get on here to try & prove their point & make statements they cannot back up or are heresay.That said I would like he or Ferg either one in a game of HORSE against a lot of others.

Ferg has a much quicker 1st step & much more overall quickness than Ervin Stepp had but still Stepp was the better shooter & ball handler.

Where did you get your stats on Stepp? I would like to read more about his stats. Another big difference was Stepp did not have the 3pt shot.

I don't think this is actually accurate. I watched to see when the MC starters would be taken out because of all the talk about this situation concerning EC. Mason had at least 4 starters if not all 5 on the floor in the 4th when the subs were sent to the scorers table at 2:34! Due to play not stopping it was about 1:26 or so when they left the floor!

Isn't Noah Keeton a SR? I would take Ethan and Evan Faulkner above Middleton, Fudge or McFarland

Schollys were not what you were referring to when you made the post I was posting about. You were more or less saying a 15-20 point scorer in the 7th, 11th etc would avg 30/game in a weaker region but a 30pt scorer in those weaker regions would not avg 15-20 in the stronger regions! Now how do figure that ?

Sorry Schue you are correct N Oldham is in the 8th & I knew that just caught in a fog there for a moment. It is just I get tired of the big regions downgrade of a team if they come from a weaker region. I'll be the first to say EC or any other school wouldn't experience this same success in those regions. However,it does not mean they wouldn't be top 3 or so in any region in the state.
