I saw on another site where the MIGHTY 6TH REGION & 2 of their top 3 teams have been beaten by 15th region teams.(Shelby Valley beat DeSales & Paintsville beat Holy Cross). Then throw in Elliotts thumping of North Oldham from the MIGHTY 6TH, who beats the team from the MIGHTY 6TH with the 4th best record Bullit East I think things look pretty good for Eastern Ky Basketball & 15th & 16th regions against the MIGHTY 6TH!!!!

Hope they do not lose their Band Director, with the track record of coaches & now something this silly they may never be able to hire another one.

Springsteen I read your post in another thread regarding this incident where you stated Coach Mays just patted the kid on the back & never said anything to him. I have to correct you. I was down near the end of the EC bench & I purposely watched to see what would happen once the kid got to the EC bench. I always do this with any sport and at any level of any sort just to see what kind of coach they may be or better yet what type of human being the coach is. As you may know from my previous post I am not much of a Coach Mays fan by any means but I will take up for him here. He stopped the kid & at least spoke with him for probabaly about 10 seconds. What was said? Who knows but he did speak to the kid & did not let him just go to the bench as you stated.

MC should win by 15 or more for a variety of reasons. It's @MC,they are a very good and experienced team that will handle EC's pressure enough to where it will not make a difference in the game. One important cog for EC will give the usual lack of effort & be in foul trouble which will make the match up problems worse. MC can also hit the 3 ball just as good as EC so even if EC is shooting it well that may equal out. Depth & MC willingness to use it! I'm sure I could name a few more but the two biggest will be Miller taking over if he needs to & coaching as you may as well just spot MC at least 12-15when it comes down to coaching. For that matter almost any EC opponent so I suppose nothing new there.

I feel Racelands main problem when it comes to playing against EC or any team applying half or full court pressure is their lack of ballhandlers. It seems Broyles did a lot better job than anyone else getting it up court. He cannot do it by himself for the full game & do what they need in the half court for them to win. Conclusion, I do not see a win for Raceland in this type game against anyone. They are a very good team but this is their only missing link to an exceptional team.

East Carter is the 2nd best team in the region & could be at Rupp in March, Elliott & RH will have to be ready if they meet.

bellalumni & waterboy you both have mentioned that Scott Co changed their press offense. How did they change it? For as long as I can remember Coach Hicks always used one man to get open & then bring the ball upcourt seems like no matter how many defenders there were.

That is just his personality on the court & I assume off the court. I have been watching him since he was 10 years old & have always said he needs to be more aggressive on the floor, especially the offensive end.

Just as Montgomery County could in the 10th. I listened to the last meeting of Montgomery & Mason & it sure seemed as though Montgomery made a run at it. Now that its played at Montgomery you never know.

Mason & Elliott play on Feb 12th & then could meet again in first round of Sweet 16

How did Euton only get off 5 or 6 shots? Was it good defense? A slow paced game where he didn't have many opportunities? Just how?

Mr. King, You know Coach Mays hair is about the same color as yours & he has a lot of it just like you so I was wondering have you ever thought about sharing your stylist with him? Not that yours can be duplicated ! but I think it would look good on Coach Mays.

Mr. King, My post were not to complain just providing some info that had been requested. I do not think anyone was really complaining this time around. Plz do not get your hair in a tease over this matter !

I do not understand the sub situation at EC but I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that Coach Mays just simply forgets about the bench!
