They are definitely for real, but took a huge blow in the championship game of J'towns tourney this past weekend. Against J'town they only lost by 5 but the bigger loss is losing one of the super sophs & 2 year starter in 6'4" Taylor Newsome to a knee injury. An ACL tear is what i am hearing and may be done for the year.

In this era of high school basketball the top teams & kids have played against so much quality competition in AAU since they were 9&10 year olds they will not be intimidated.

I said earlier in the year Lincoln Co is the team to beat & I do not know where anyone came up with Wayne Co as the #1 team. I think thats where the Cats pause or BGP had them in pre season. I can't remember exactly where I saw it

"Simple you run that old 16th region slow down half court offense they use" The team with more athletes & true basketball players than anyone in the region except Elliott should have won by double digits ! They played right into Fairview hands with their slow down game which allowed Fairview to stay in the game.

They actually play tomorrow evening. I saw it somewhere they play today & made a call to a player who told me that was wrong.

Just imagine Maynard hasn't been hitting this year like he normally does & he is getting good looks. If he gets on there is another 9-12 points/game as I would say he's getting anywhere from 4-7 looks/game. He's probably a 45%-46% 3pt shooter for his career. He will not stay cold for long. lot of good shooters on this team.

Cumberland is a very good team that could definitely come out with a W against EC as any of the teams mentioned. As far as this past summer I was just making that point as comparison as they were the only team EC has recently faced that was listed above. As far as the summer tourney itself I think Cumberland may have had a little easier draw in the tourney due to some upsets that placed different teams lower ect.., Good luck to Cumberland & hope to see them in Richmond.

I agree there will be a lot of good teams there that can play with them. Off the top of my head here are a few: Shelby Valley, Paintsville,Somerset, Bardstown,UH, & possibly Cumberland. However they handled Cumberland this Summer in AAU state with Cumberlands big guy, but that was summer. They have run into some good "D" to this point. Morgan Co & E Carter play good D, Christian Co was a good D team. One big key to any other teams big man is the gaurds have to be able to get him the ball & Elliotts pressure will cause problems. JBS will not be as big a factor because they do not get their big man involved in the game.

Gryche11 have you seen both Cov Cath & EC play this year & if so how do you see this game going? Aren't they a big contrast in Offensive styles?
