After seeing how the 16th Region has panned out, what players do you think were the top Post Players in the Region??

He (Pettit) had a nice game tonight in Mt. Sterling- he put up 21 and 8 according to the MCHS web site. (it should probably be pointed out that he gave up 19 and 10 to Stephens too)

I like the two Carter County boys, Barker and Barnhill. Chris Barker is a workhorse on the block, and is the best in the region at protecting the basket, he either had a triple double tonight or was one block short. Barnhill, while only a sophomore, is impressive to me. I think he will be a real player in the future. I would also take Selby over Pettit, but Pettit is a fine post player in his own right as well.

I obviously haven't seen all of these kids play to form an opinion. I will say that he may not be the best in the 16th but I beleive that J. Sparks at Raceland deserves a mention as being amoung the best.

Best big man in the region is Dakotah Euton.

I would have to go with Barnhill and Sparks as the next two, Pettit is good but needs some experience.

Pettit is a senior and I think that Rio Grande was looking at him. Selby is only as good as the defense will let him be. The two times that he played against East Carter he was completely shut down. The last time he had six points and four rebounds so I would say that the Barnhill kid gets the nod over him since he is the one that shut him down. Colt also had two big games on Pettit and since he is only a sophomore he definitely has a very high ceiling.

I wouldnt consider someone 6'4 playing center to be a "big guy", so Pettit, being 6'9, would have to be considered the best "big guy". There might be better centers within the 16th, but nobody with "big guy" size. Going away from center, Dakotah Euton has to be the best within the 16th and in years to come, might be one of the best in the state.

That's what I'm saying. There is really only one post player in the region, so he has to be the best. Selby appeared in person to be about 6'2-6'3, which isn't really a true big man.
