  1. Should make for interesting conversation. I do have one question - Will Shelby be better than Carroll, Williamstown, North Oldham and Gallatin County? I was under the understanding that most of their players went to Collins.
  2. I think Gallatin should be very good this year. Like FBD said they return their top 6 players. They have enough talent to compete for the 31st district crown and the 8th region All "A" title. The region is hosted by Gallatin this year and they could surprise somebody on their home floor. Staying injury free will be big for them this year, and look for 8th grader Hannah Dossett to get a lot of varsity minutes.
  3. Very good team assessments. I think North Oldham will be a solid team this year also.
  4. Walton plays CovCath this Saturday and the winner will advance to the playoffs.
  5. Nice District win for the Bearcats.
  6. It appears a really good team out of the 29th district will not make the regional tournament.
  7. Missed extra points were big in this game.
  8. This team will be much improved. They have some size plus Beal and Julian are very good players.
  9. Plus Judy only played a handful of games last year because of knee surgery and looked great over the summer (she is receiving a lot of college attention). Clinkenbeard played hurt all last year and looks to be getting close to 100%. With Taulbee Walton will be the deepest team in the region. I like Walton's chances this year if everyone is healthy. I agree with Colonel they need to improve at the point, but nobody in the region will have the 3 headed monster on the inside like Walton. Anderson - I agree should be the favorite, but I'm not sure if it is clear cut. It should be interesting.
  10. McKee and Cann from Anderson and Dossett from Gallatin will be Freshman that will make an impact in the 8th region.
  11. I agree with your top three. It should be a very exciting year again in the 8th.
  12. Watched the Bryant girl this summer a few times and was very impressed.
  13. Owen will be solid this year. They will have a very solid back court with Gayheart and Neeley. If their inside game improves from last year, which I think it will, they should win 20 games challenge for both the All "A" and district titles. As stated in a previous post - they are not very deep and staying healthy will be very important for them.
  14. I agree. Here is their Schedule from their Website, but I'm not sure if anymore games are to be added. Dec 3rd @ Bonne County 6th vs Owen County 10th vs Simon Kenton 13th @ Grant County 17-18-19 @ PRP Tournament Jan 3rd @ Trimble County 4th vs North Oldham 7th vs Williamstown 8th @ MLK Classic @ Lexington Dunbar 10th-15th All A @ Walton 17th @ Highlands 20th vs Grant Countyy 22nd vs South Oldham 25th vs Newport Central Catholic 28th @ Williamstown 29th @ Henry County 31st @ Simon Kenton Feb 7th @ Owen County 9th vs Covington Scott 14th vs Covington Holmes 18th @ Carroll County
  15. I think you are totally correct. But, I believe the NKCA awards are televised .
  16. I think closer is the main reason Walton schedules 9th region teams. Plus, as stated, Coach Miller is a member of the NKCA and they have post season awards for members.
  17. Thanks - the school website has a few more games. South Oldham is Jan 22nd, plus there are a few Tournament games listed that are not on the KHSAA Website.
  18. Is the schedule posted somewhere?
  19. I believe they have Shelby, North Oldham, and South Oldham on the schedule. Not many more 8th region teams to play with the exception of Anderson and ML Collins.
  20. I hope Anderson and Walton get to play in the regular season. It would be a fun game to watch.
  21. And they played them in a 24 hour period 4, 6 and 8 and then played 11, 1 and 3 the next day. Great field of teams with a lot of good basketball.
  22. I wouldn't put to much stock on summer games. Yes they help in the development process, but you never know who is there and who has practiced. Walton turned around and lost to Owen later in the day.
  23. Can Walton Rebound will be a main concern. Wings should be able to score with shooters like Sullivan, McNeil and Hargett and look for Freshman Moeves to get Varsity minutes. Walton will need Monday to play very big this year and they will also need big things out of Brockman. The Junior and Sophomore classes are thin in numbers, especially if Cottrell doesn't play. Plus Burns (Freshman) transferring doesn't help.
