  1. I do think the bluegrass region includes Boone, at least my 4th grader says it does. But, I like hearing "Mr. Morris" say it anyway.
  2. Getting back to the game. Walton is deeper and has more talent than Williamstown. The game was never really close. But, I do think on any given night Williamstown could play with, or even beat Walton. I personally think Williamstown plays the right way and does a lot of things right, they are just limited by numbers. Stith had a great game, what made it most impressive was she never touched the ball with her left hand. It amazes me how Walton plays defense at times. They will either get beat with the right hand or foul. Here is a thought, "make someone go left once in a while, and do it without fouling." If I had a dollar for everytime Walton's defense has been split by a dribbler, I could retire after this season.
  3. The 8th regional tournament is wide open. The draw will be very important on who will advance to the finals, Tournament time is about match ups (when there is no clear favorite). I don't believe that Shelby and Anderson will both advance to the finals, but I think it would be safe to say that one will. I just hope the parking is in better shape at Henry before the regional tournament starts.
  4. Gotta give the 8th some love :thumb: I'll go with Gallatin by 2 on a David Henson put back at the buzzer.
  5. Walton-Verona's Freshman over Highlands tonight 35-30. Running their record to 9-0. That makes Walton's 7th, 8th, & 9th grade teams a combined 42-1 on the season. The freshman have a big game against district rival SK on Saturday night.
  6. Free throw shooting wins games. Walton was 21-24 from the free throw line and only missed one down the stretch. Great job Bearcats.
  7. I think this is 8 wins in the last 9 games. Good job.
  8. Should be a great atmosphere, and hopefully a great game. Walton will need to shoot the ball well. They will also need to keep Gallatin's free throw advantage to a minimum. The game at Walton earlier this year Gallatin shot 18 more free throws than Walton.
  9. Good win for the Bearcats. Trimble does a lot of nice things. Not sure that one team outplayed the other tonight. Good luck to coach Bennett and the boys on Friday.
  10. I like this senior class, and they will be missed come next year. I totally agree about warmups, it is not acceptable for all the cutting up and clowning around. It is true that a win is a win I guess, but Walton will have to play much better in the districts if they plan on beating Grant for a 3rd time. I'm assuming Grant is the 3rd seed, but I'm not sure. The last few games I've watched Walton starts the game out strong, but then loses their MO when they seem to over sub early in the game. About the Workman girl from Grant, I think what makes her so effective is she is somewhat out of control and plays with no fear. I like watching her.
  11. It should be about matchups and who gives you the best chance to win. Some games that might be different, but that is why it is a team sport.
  12. This game will be close. Henry at Henry is a tough road. I like the Bearcats by 5 in this one.
  13. top ten - no order 1. Dunlap - Oldham 2. Payne - Oldham 3. Penny - Anderson 4. Minnis - Shelby 5. Maegley - Simon 6. Maddox - Gallatin 7. Gamble - Owen 8. Ponzer - Walton 9. Jones - Gallatin 10. Layne - Simon
  14. No you're both wrong, it is at the Yum Yum in Glencoe. Good win for the Wildcats, especially out scoring Shelby by 24 in the 2nd half.
  15. I guess the question each player has to ask - Is playing time more important than winning? I would think that winning 6 in a row would keep the bench excited.
  16. I heard it was a 7th grader who stepped up to the line and made two free throws with 1 second left.
  17. Playing Henry at Henry is never easy. I'll pick Walton by 3 in a hard, foul fested game.
