  1. I hope they remember they still have to beat Trimble at Trimble (in the dark) to advance to the finals. This was a good win, but they still have to win 2 more to go to Richmond. Good luck to the Lady Bearcats.
  2. They did miss a lot of free throws at the end, but I don't think they missed 11. It would of made it closer, but I'm not sure that it was the difference, but having said that, it is not a good habit to get into.
  3. Walton lead 61-60 with 5 minutes to go. Simon went on a 11-0 run to make it 71-61. This was a good High School game to watch. Both teams played hard and with a lot of energy. Nice Crowd tonight also.
  4. Just think if they all won!!!!!:ylsuper: I believe Kenton is the only County that could send 3 teams to the State Tournament.
  5. Don't want to steal your thunder, but they have won 4 in a row.
  6. I love your positive attitude!!!!:thumb:
  7. Getting back to the topic. I've seen both teams play and I don't believe that guard play will be the difference. The difference in this game will come down to whether WV can some what control the inside game of SK. If they can't then it is going to be a long nite for the bearcats. But, even if they can do a decent job of defending the post, they will still have to make perimeter shots. Walton will have to play very well and Simon might need to have a little hickup for Walton to win. The best part is, this time tomorrow we will know for sure.
  8. SK - More WV - Less Score - I have no idea. Both these teams are having a roller coaster season. No score would surprise me.
  9. Yep you're right. I didn't look at the list that closely. I thought Trimble played hard last night and made big plays down the stretch. One thing they did that impressed me last night was their ability to make a 12-15 jump shot. I really thought when #50 fouled out for Trimble that Walton would have an advantage, but Trimble out worked Walton and made the critical shots in overtime to get the win.
  10. I guess on the bright side, they are not losing to those teams. I know Coach Bennett has worked hard at building the feeder system and Walton should start to see some results of that in the near future.
  11. No matter what grade the best players should play the majority of the time (Varsity) you develop in the lower levels. If you are not one of the better players, work harder and get better. Being a senior doesn't mean playing time. The bottom line is that those 2 8th graders should not of played middle school this year. They should have been with the JV/Varsity from the start. Plus, there is probably one more middle school girl that will be playing Varsity before the season is over. I think that the program didn't have a very good/clear vision before the season started. In another thread everyone was screaming for a change, well it looks like the change is starting. I hope it works out.
  12. I like Walton in this one by 10-12 points.
  13. Until someone beats Carroll they should be the favorite.
  14. That will make for a better tournament. 8 teams, compaired to 6, and no one gets a bye. I would like to see each team play once before the All "A" and use a seeding method. Don't know if that is possible, but at least the top 2 teams would have the chance to play in the finals.
  15. We love the coach!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:dancingpa
  16. I'm afraid that it could get ugly - it certainly has the potential too. If Walton can shoot the ball in and take care of it, then they have the ability to pull off the upset. However, Boone's size will be tough for Walton to match up against.
  17. "Attitude" and "heart" as you call it..are too totally different things. Just to refresh your memory, there have been a lot of kids play at Walton that have played with "heart" but without the "attitude". I'll be the first to say the I think Ponzer and Martin both play extremely hard and that is refreshing to watch however they're not the first one's out there who have ever played hard. Its the constant moaning and complaining about every call is what needs to stop. As far the statement that "you aren't used to seeing competitve people on Walton's floor" -- just tells me that you don't know anything about Walton.
  18. I agree! And, welcome to the site!!
  19. I'll give Walton credit, they certainly do play hard but IMO, they've got a few guys that need to stop with all the theatrics everytime the whistle blows. It doesn't accomplish anything and it looks bad on them as well as the team. This could probably be said about a lot of different teams, but i've noticed it a lot with Walton. Basically, just shut up and play the game!
  20. Walton was up 12 in the 4th qtr but Grant Co made a nice run to cut it to 3 with under a minute to go. Walton missed several free throws in the last minute of the game. Grant had two opportunities to tie it with a three but couldn't convert. Jones led Walton with 27 pts. Nice district win for Walton.
  21. Has anyone seen Williamstown play this year?
