The Scout Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 Looks like the Bearcats played pretty well. Better than what most people said anyway.
funtowatch Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 Thanks for the updates guys. Walton needs to keep their heads up as the game was alot closer than the final score and was on the road. Congrats to SK. The district tourney should be fun.
Weakside Posted January 12, 2008 Author Posted January 12, 2008 I would have to agree. I don't believe in moral victories however i think WV should be proud of the way they played. No one expected this game to be close.
spillywilly Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 When is the rematch at Walton I do not see it on my schedule. I think that will be a good game. I heard Jones was sick and throwing up in the trash can on the sidelines through out the game.
Time and Score Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 Walton lead 61-60 with 5 minutes to go. Simon went on a 11-0 run to make it 71-61. This was a good High School game to watch. Both teams played hard and with a lot of energy. Nice Crowd tonight also.
spillywilly Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 I heard the free throw shooting was not so good for Walton any truth to that. If they make free throws do they win or make it real close?
Time and Score Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 I heard the free throw shooting was not so good for Walton any truth to that. If they make free throws do they win or make it real close? They did miss a lot of free throws at the end, but I don't think they missed 11. It would of made it closer, but I'm not sure that it was the difference, but having said that, it is not a good habit to get into.
OneCat Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 Fun game to watch. Both teams played hard. :jump:
Tiger1 Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 For the most part, it was a good game by both teams, but the officiating was horrible, AGAIN! KHSAA exec, Larry Bouchers, needs to do an overhaul to the officiating through out the state because it is not any fun to watch games anymore. Walton did struggle with Maegley because they are just not very tall. SK needs to do a better job on the defensive side of the ball if they want to be a contender in the 8th. Good luck to both teams.
*Jeanie* Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 Walton played very well, like I predicted. SK by 10, they won by eleven. The game was tight throughout, and went back and forth. Can't wait for the re-match. Both teams played great, best of luck!
madman Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 Even though Walton lost, they played tough. Maybe this will be a building block to help them prepare for the All A.
pioneer1981 Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 Walton did a good job breaking SK defense pressure. This was a good game to watch. The Ponzer cousins really got after each other.:fight:
The Scout Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 You know with some of the good shooters that Walton has they seem to strugle some at the free throw line. Not sure what they are shooting for the year but the last few games (Owen, Trimble) and at SK they have missed some that were crucial!
