congrats to WV...sounds like a good game for both Hargett and Stith. Walton is going to miss Hargett next year she is a very good player. Not to mention the other talented Seniors she has around her.

Williamstown had a good game plan, but I don't think they expected Sargent to have 10 in the first half and Hargett to hit a "3". That was the difference in the game. Heeger lit it up too, not sure how many threes she had, but she had to have had 3 or 4 and all of them were backbreakers for Williamstown.

Coach Rosen had a good game plan. Their on the pressure wasoutstanding tonight forcing Williamstown into numerous tournovers. Congratulations to outstanding games by Hargett and Stith. They were difinitely the 2 best players on the floor tonight. Stith had a great block on Hargett. I don't think Lauren was expecting that. Good luck to WV the rest of the season.

You are correct. Coach Rosen did appear to have a good game plan which appeared to catch Williamstown off guard. She played the upperclassmen more than the other night and it paid off. Walton's defense forced 33 Williamstown turnovers and made it very difficult for the Lady Demons to score. Congrats to the Lady Cats and good luck to the Lady Demons on their upcoming draw for the 3rd seed.

Agreed. I thought the "Seniors/Older-class girls" stepped it up tonight. Sargent played great tonight, with good "d" and shooting the ball. Heeger also had a good night, forced steals, and had a great shooting night also. Glad to see the Senior's stepping their game up towards the end of the season. I think they are starting to realize that this is it, (Besides Hargett) that they won't play anymore, and have that passion that has been missing throughout this year.

I think coach Rosen was glad to see Williamstown drop into a zone, I think Walton is much more deadly facing a zone than a man to man. Walton has some really solid shooters, Walton looked good tonight.

Congrats To Walton-Verona, we needed this win and we got it.

What do you think the Williamstown game plan was? Please explain.

I think CatPride24 was saying that Williamstown sat in a 'packed in' 2/3 zone to stop Hargett from scoring every time. Just like Trimble did to Walton in the "All A" but this time it was different. When Trimble had that game plan, Coach Rosen never put her shooters in to shoot over the zone, which stopped Walton from scoring, but tonight, Coach Rosen learned from that mis-take and put and already had Heeger, Sargent, Hargett all in the game, and they just played HORSE out there (3 point line) tonight. Once the guards had to step out and extend the zone, Walton dump'd it in to Hargett around the free-throw line and she just made easy buckets all night.

So, I think Williamstown thought it was a good game plan, but Walton play's better against a zone. They shoot the ball well as a team, and when the right people are in, they can beat a zone with no problem. Like tonight!

That's why Walton had a good game plan tonight, Rosen put who needed to be in and when, and it gave Walton a win. At least she learned from what happened the first time someone 'zoned' Walton and fixed it. Walton play's well against a zone. The girls can shoot well from the outside.

Thanks---I understand what you are saying now.

All is right with the world until the next loss. I feel for your coach and players.

How many games have you watched Walton play this year?

There are plenty of games, where the Coach lost them for us. Sure she's young and still learning, but you don't understand everything that's going on at Walton. There's more to it than just the game plan's and etc. It's off the court, communication, respect, issues that aren't taken care of. It's a lot of other stuff than just win and losses that upset us/parents.

Tonight she (Coach) got it done on the court. And so did the players. If you read my above post, it talks about our loss to Trimble in the "All A" and where they packed in the zone and coach never put in our shooters, and then cost us the game. She learned from that mis-take and fixed it tonight, and Walton had 9 Three's or so. It's not just winning and losing, there's a lot of issues that go on, that I sure you don't know about. Which upsets us.

Tonight she let the girls play and they came away with a win. She sub'd early against Holy Cross and hurt our chances to win, when we didn't need to sub. The line-up was working. Tonight, like I said, she let the girls that were in play, and gave us an early ten point lead, which grew to twenty. Things like that upset us when we lose games because of many errors, which a varsity coach shouldn't do. IMO All I know is that the girls played like a team tonight, got it done and need to keep rolling.
