GC coach

Gallatin is very deep and athletic. Their quality depth allows them to play at a pace and intensity that some of the other A schools are not accustomed to. It will take a very physical team with good guard play to knock off Gallatin.I am looking forward to their matchup with Anderson. Gallatin returns everyone except Maddox who was limited due to injury last year. They also added 2 quality players. All of this benefits Gallatin early on.

I have got to see them all play (South, Shelby and Anderson) Yes they will all be better by the end, but from what I have seen early Walton Verona is better than these teams right now IMO. I am looking forward to seeing Walton and Simon. Walton has a legit shot to win the region this year. Alot of talent and depth. The lumps the young players took last year has paid off as they are now accustomed to what it takes to compete and seem physically and mentally stronger. It is still my opinion that Simon is the favorite being defending champs and hosting the region.

Walton will keep getting better. They are young but the experience those players got last year is invaluable. Having everyone back, being extremly deep and talented helps to get off to this kind of start. Walton has a legitimate shot to win the 8th this year. Playing Simon will be a good test.

Just my opinion but from what I saw on the summer circuit Anderson had some of the best young talent in the state.. McKee and Brown could end up in the top half of the region voting this year.

Like most of the 8th Trimble will be young again. They seemed to play well this summer and could surprise.

You are right Ltn. Dan. But the young talent in the 8th makes it exciting. Who will continue to elevate their game? Who will be a break out star? THe region being wide open combined with the young talent has alot of people interested. Good luck to all players, coaches and fans in the 8th. Whoever shall prevail in the region best of luck in the state.

I stand corrected they have 4 jrs 2 SOPHMORES and 4or 5 fresh. THis is not counting a few middle school players who could see time

Gallatin lost 4 seniors from last year. THey have no seniors this year. 4 juniors and the rest are freshmen and below

It would seem that Owen and Walton are the favorites with many returning players. CC, and GC had good summers tho it is summer ball. I have also heard good things from Williamstown and Trimble so you never know as all have quality coaches and players. Don't count out Carroll in the lower bracket. If they can get by Walton they have sorta had Owen's number(IF they get by Trimble) Gallatin has a bye and would probably face Williamstown to reach the finals. Could make for a remake of last year's all A final, Carroll vs Gallatin.

I have not seen SCA but I like the way Mercy plays and a big fan of coach Evans. SO Mercy by 5.

I am not surprised it was a good competitive game. Coach Mefford and Wright are both great coaches. Who played well for South?

I didn't see the all tourny list but saw where Hill for Gallatin had 20 pts and 17 rbds.

The 7th region representative is Whitefiled. They defeated Brown satuday but not sure of the score

How strong is Oldham? I haven't got a chance to see them yet. I saw Spencer in the NAS tournament and wasn't overly impressed, but could of been a off week. It still looks like SK then maybe Anderson. After that alot of pairity in the 8th

Congrats 2 both teams. THe first half was one of the best played an most exciting halves ive seen in a while. Both went cold the 2nd half but part was due 2 the great defensive intensity by both. A Game played this well an hard neither deserves 2 lose. Both teams had a great tourny an both coaches did a great job. This was what a championship game should look like.

Tuff game an a great game 4 me as i have rooting interest both ways. Gc set the tone defensively the whole game. WV was unable 2 get n to their off ensive sets. On the other hand GC kept attacking mismatches on the other end with Balsiger finding open gals leading 2 balanced scoring. WV was unable 2 get anything 2 fall but credit Gallatins d.

I would agree. I'm not saying those 2 were going to be WNBA players but those players are a rare breed. I would agree with those mentioned as impact players. I saw Morrison 2 years ago in the state with Shelby and thought she was a impact player when I saw her. Granted I didn't see her player more than 5 times.

But agreeing with your point she is a great coach and they will miss her. I was really impressed with her winning both games and how she coached in the Ky/Indiana All Star game
