Gallatin County won with their girls playing together well. WV's Lady Bearcats young team really showed through on this game. I am not sure how many turnovers they had because I lost count before the end of the second quarter. Our ladies are passing the ball off when they should go ahead and finish their shots when headed to the basket and way too many times a bounce pass was attempted to be made through the opponent. NOT going to happen!!:idunno:

 

They had little outside shooting going on and it was just one of those nights where absolutely nothing would go in the basket.

 

Gallatin County's team showed much improvement since their 43-39 win over Walton Verona in the beginning of the season. While WV has improved they still have a lot of fundamental mistakes that were made and need to be worked on.

Gallatin County started out with a very uptempo game, pressing Walton into a few turnovers in the first quarter. The Wildcats would open a 17-10 lead going into the second quarter. Things evened out in the second quarter as the 7 point lead held going into the locker room at the half, 25-18. Ashley Jones added the first three pointer of the game in the thrid quarter as she, led by her 7 points in the quarter opened up an 11 ppoint lead going into the final frame. Brooke Hill added 8 points in the 4th to seal the game to an eventual 47-34 final. The Wildcats will face Carroll County for the third time this year in the 8th Region All "A" Classic finals on Saturday. Kelli Dixon paced the Bearcats with 10 points while Ashley Jones led the Wildcats with 13 points while Brooke Hill and Christina Balsiger added 12 each. Gallatin County evens their record at 8-8 while Walton goes to 5-9 on the season with the loss.

Tuff game an a great game 4 me as i have rooting interest both ways. Gc set the tone defensively the whole game. WV was unable 2 get n to their off ensive sets. On the other hand GC kept attacking mismatches on the other end with Balsiger finding open gals leading 2 balanced scoring. WV was unable 2 get anything 2 fall but credit Gallatins d.
