This is a very interesting topic. One, why would Tackett leave? Two, where would he go? Three, wouldn't a principal be to time involved within the school to coach? :confused:

The Commercial Bank in West Liberty is a huge donor. Who else in a political setting could be benefitial donors? Bingo is a great way to get money, golf scrambles, spirit cards not to mention a ton of other ways that money can be raised. Is Morgan County looking to upgrade their facilities?

Who will his assistants be? Will he try to hire his buddy whom he coached with at Cumberlands to be his D-corrdinator?

When you realize you don't want to do the same thing in the morning, its time to find another job. If you move on for a better situation at the time because a coach can only accomplish so much at one school, let the man take that challenge and try there. Sometimes its hard to leave one job for another but a part of coaching if teaching kids and showing them how to grow as a young man and make the right decisions, therefore if a decision the head coach makes to leave for another program, its right for him and no one else.

Congrats on finding a coach. Glad he is excited to be there. Did he coach at Western with Doug Preston, formally of Rowan Co. ?

Congrats to Clay. He is a super person and coach. I wish him the best in a up hill battle but a great place to get started as a Head Coach.

Is this because Lucas is running the show until they hire or do you think they will not hire him? Will he follow Cobb to Hendo?

Any word on where this candidate is from?

There was a thought they would have hired by the end of this week. What is the word on the situation there?

I was told by a current player that a few have quit. It may be that they want to do another direction and don't have the desire which all programs will lose a few kids from summer until July. The thing is, they may come back or just are not into giving 100% as they should. As for giving Pardue time, yes it will take time for him to make a name for himself. It took Smith 5 or 6 years to really build that program and everyone bought in on his system, as they should Pardue. :thumb:

I don't think it hurts to look if its not too often as a head coach. Sometimes things may not be as great as you wish and want to see if it can be somewhere else where you may fit in.

I have heard about some players, even starters from last years team quit. I heard this last year as well. I don't know if Pardue isn't relating to the boys as Smith did but something is wrong. Pardue is from WKY is i'm not mistaken and may have wanted to go back west due with the situation that may be stirring up at Boyle. This is an interesting situation and will be not be surprised if he isn't gone within the year if Boyle isn't "Chuck Smith successful."

Lucas is a proven defensive coordinator with the right talent at Somerset. He wasn't successful at Lincoln as Head Coach and it could be athletes or administration support. He was let go in only two years where he played and tried to get things back on track after an unsuccessful stint in Estes. Anyhow, Lucas could go to Henderson with Cobb or stay there for another year and give it a shot. I hope they hire ASAP and don't make a dumb hire and the program fold.

Who may be possible names mentioned in this opening if Cobb is going to Henderson Co.?

This shakes things up. So if Lucas doesn't desire to be a head coach, will he follow Cobb to Henderson Co.? Who will apply for the Somerset job or will they hire from within? We may need to start another thread on the opening job at Somerset!

Did Ravenwood win a state title just in the past few years or go deep in the playoffs? I also think he spoke at the Nike clinic in Louisville 2 or 3 years ago as well. If that is him, very nice guy and seems to be very knowledgeable.

Probation for all sports, due to an instrument about $150-200 dollars and is required by KHSAA. The next coach will be watched like a hawk and have a heavy burden to deal with dealing with parents and public attention. This new coach better be prepared for a long haul, but whomever it may be will do a great job because these men are quality people and canidates.

We thought that Jaggers was out of the picture a week ago. We know he done well with two schools combining to win a state title. Great job and congrats on that. The four candidates mentioned are great names and wish them the best. It would be hard for Marty to leave Mercer-Burg and start over again. Sure they may pay him as much as Mercer but what facilities does Henderson have? I know Mercer has a nice indoor facility. Just remember the AD at Mercer now was the AD at Lincoln while Jaggers was there and the bond they have is also a key to Marty staying. Again quality names in all 5 coaches and wish Henderson the best in this hiring process.

I don't see Clevenger getting it. Is this the first head coaching job he has interviewed for? he has been a proven assistant coach moving up to defensive coordinator at Cumberlands before leaving for Lincoln as O-Coordinator. Jackson is a proven coach and players coach. Pardue is from Western KY and may be on the hot seat at Boyle if not a successful season as some may think isn't the Boyle of the past. Cobb i believe is set at Somerset. He has a great group returning and a great WR in Cole. This is a good group of names and I may just go out on a limb and go with Pardue getting it and turning it down and Jackson taking the job.
