I see what you're saying, but Estill does have something to do with it. Forgetting what has happened on the field the last two years, compare Estill's chances of taking up a spot in the region to Wolfe's. Estill moving to the district gives Powell a little less breathing room, in the past even on a down year Powell still had a good chance of getting in, but now on Estill and Lee's better years, Powell has a smaller chance of reaching regional play. Should they have been in the last two years, definately, but after seeing what Varney and his Pirates have done in the regular season, in the next few years they should get their post season issues lined out.

Anyone know the sizes of the schools mentioned for comparison purposes?

Defense is the big issue. The Engineers have proved over the last several years that they can pile up the rushing yards in a hurry, as soon as they get a solid defense to go along with that rushing attack they'll be hard to handle.

I don't know about that, I believe when a team defeats another by 8 runs in the first round of the district they definately deserve to be there.

It should be a surprise with the way the Pirates handled Lee in the regular season, however, Drake is a tough pitcher, and Lee is a team that is plenty capable of competing with the Pirates, just wasn't expecting a Bobcat victory of 8 runs.

Wow, wasn't expecting Powell to lose, and definately not by 8 runs.

Their schedule thus far isn't impressive, but the schedule ahead will be better suited for preparing them for the tourney.

Estill is 7-0, have scored 99 runs and allowed 8, in only 38 innings, only 2 of the 7 games have went the full 7. The next 7 games on the schedule should be a good test for the 'Neers, Madison Central, Powell County, Madison Southern, Harrison County, North Laurel, Lee County, and Bath County.

Coach Wood is a great coach, got it done in the 10th, and is rolling in the 14th, Congratulations to the Engineers.

My father moved to Cocoa Beach right before Christmas, it's been nice down there the whole time.

Seeing the teams those two were on a couple of times, they would have really benefited from Coach Combs' leadership, and discipline.

It was only a matter of time with Coach Combs. They had a tough team a few years ago with Tyler and Drew Lee, did either of these players go anywhere? I thought I heard they were both going to Morehead if so, how are they doing?

He's a very good hitter, I remember two at bats off the top of my head, he had a ground out, and was hit by a pitch. The new E was started by the football team, and it's circulated throughout the athletic program.

Freeman pitched, and did a pretty good job throwing strikes.
