  1. Any updates? Has PC started interviewing or are they still in the application stage?
  2. Coaching staff has talent and dedication. There is such a negativity in the stands during games, I can see why the kids have a difficult time "buying in.". The DC has been with the program of 9 yrs (don't quote me on that) and always seems to do a lot with the defense. When people, fans and/or parents are not behind the team, it's hard to see success: no matter talent or numbers. Just left spring game and numbers are extremely low for a school of this size.
  3. Respect for coaches from parents and players. A belief in the program by all parties (coaches, parents, players and fans). Discipline...agreed.
  4. I've got to go with the Cards. As the defense and offense improve this week AND make the necessary adjustments, they will come out with the win. This is homecoming week and GRC will want this win. GRC-27. Creek-7.
  5. letabrotherspeak, it's truely sad to see anyone say that the coaches do not try to motivate their players or that they are blaming anyone for a loss. There are many players who read what we write on this site and to place blame on the coaches only places doubt within the locker room; in which case, no one wins. The coaches at GRC coached their hearts out on Friday night and the entire week and wanted nothing more than for their team to win. This is what they will continue to do this entire season. Like coaches from ALL teams, they take time away from their families and other responsibilities because of their love of the game and the belief in their team. The coaches who are at the practices are dedicated and work hard for their players. Your comments are unfounded and unappreciated by the true CARDINAL FANS. Gold Sunrise, you are correct. There isn't a coach around that pleases everyone all the time. Coaches are not Gods and they make mistakes. We have to make a choice to support the coaching staff and stand behind the team, not belittle them. And yes, letabrotherspeak, GRC is better than their 0-2 record. There is no argument there.
  6. I know Chase, I hate to hear that. I pray that everything is okay for him. Great game for the Ads, I'm glad they have a Win this week! I look forward to being back in Admiral Country in a couple of weeks.....see you there Cardinal Pride You are greatly missed!
  7. MNCM you must be mistaken to think that coaches would EVER make moves that are best for an individual rather than for the team. Conners may have been an "awesome" free safety a couple of years ago but I am sure there are reasons he is no longer at that positionyear. If memory serves correctly, Conners played cornerback last night and did not come off to stop the run. At safety last year against Tates Creek, Conners didn't make the big plays that he should have. I do agree with you about not letting personalities get in the way of the team! There may be leaders on the field and in the locker room but they have yet to step up and the time is NOW. Come on GRC, play as one.
  8. Congrats to HC, there is a great season ahead of you. With GRC, the talent is there! It looked like they haven't found the TEAM aspect of the season, several players seemed to be playing for themselves. GRC has to believe in the team and trust each other. Even with the loss, there were improvements from the prior week, defense looked better....can't wait to see how you do next week. Great improvement takes time, not just one week. Hold your head up GRC, we believe in you!!!!!!! As to the comment about "staff and their preparation", GIVE ME A BREAK! Know something about what you are saying before you post comments like that! Gold Sunrise-It was nice to finally meet you, see you next week!
  9. A definite battle. GRC wiill come out on top! 32-27. Really hope that the fans (on both sides) show up with the class that MNCM talks about. Sometimes this rivalry really can get nasty.
  10. Players will need to stay focused and remember that they also have to keep their grades up. We need to have our players on the field and not the sidelines. If the players can not keep up grades and keep their attitudes in check, it would be a shame. We have talent and we need to NOT have problems so that the talent can shine.
  11. Cardinal Pride.....Are you buying a hot chocolate for me this week? With rain on Wednesday, it doesn't make for a good mid-week practice, but I think the Cards will be ready. When GRC sees the predictions of HC winning, they are going to dig down deep and play their A game! I have no doubt that each player will give their best Friday. They have just begun to feel like a family and I don't think they are ready for that to end! GO CARDS!!!!
  12. If GRC holds on to the ball and doesn't make costly mistakes, they should be just fine. GRC's Defense has to contain HC's athletes. We can not afford to have missed tackles or fumbles. Believe in your team, GRC....we do! GRC 35 HC 34:thumb:
  13. What a great game! It was great to see Lincoln have such a great season. I hope the Pats hold their heads high, everyone from the area is extremely proud of you. Lincoln will be one to watch next year! Way to go CARDS! Great job working together and watching out for each other. Despite all the garbage talk throughout the season, we've got to give a hand to the coaches. Nice job adjusting and reading the plays....it looks like you all were prepared :thumb: Although that's not unusual! I was really impressed with each player finding their groove last night. You all came out on the field as ONE, we could tell that you wanted it! We are extremely proud of you. When you work as a family, as ONE, you can SUCCEED:dancingpa
  14. Thanks, Mr. Network! Looks like there is hope for this thread after all!
  15. Mr. Network-Been looking for your stats, as well. It's always nice to see some FACTS and no nonsense. I'd be glad to read your stats and stay out of the drama. Some of us are still interested in a good ol' ball game, without the trash talk. This site was not intended to be a place for people to bash a team or an individual. If players/parents/fans/coaches can not rise above the talk on this thread, how can we expect you to be anything but negative in the stands or on the field on Friday nights. Football is about more than who WINS or LOSES a game. It's about young men learning to be a part of something bigger than themselves. With that said, I wish both teams a great game. My heart is with GRC and I hope to see them pull through. We have got to show up ready to play. Lincoln will be ready and looking for a win! I am excited to see a great game, one with class, and one that will be remembered. GRC-32 Lincoln-28
  16. You made me laugh!!!!! Can we choose D. all of the above?
  17. I look for this one to be close. Madison Central always plays well under pressure. I look for Central to come back and win! LC may under estimate these guys, if MC is ready, they can win!
  18. I've got so many cardinal heads, I don't know what to do with them!:jump: I've been so busy looking for a place to stick them....Seriously, just been a little busy with work. I'm going to back my Cards and say we will win by 2 TD's. Cardinal Pride, bring some coffee to this one or you can buy me a hot chocolate!!
  19. GreenWheelBarrow-----Thought you were talking about GRC.....Thanks for the S.Laurel info though. It's always good to see that people have reason for their comments....Thanks.
  20. If you only knew how wrong you were, my friend. If I were only younger, I'd love to be on the field.... If Cardinal Pride were only a coach, maybe we'd be undefeated....Ha!!!!! Like I said earlier, I hope the seniors have a great night, I hope we come off with a win and I hope everyone (fans, coaches and players alike) come out with a great attitude. I don't really think anyone can argue with that.:sssh:
