gold sunrise Posted August 19, 2007 Posted August 19, 2007 Big rival game this Saturday at MC in the Rec. Bowl. I think it will be a battle, but GRC will get the win. What are your thoughts?
Plato Posted August 19, 2007 Posted August 19, 2007 I hope the battle stays on the field, not in the stands. This rivalry is a bit nasty.
MNCM Posted August 19, 2007 Posted August 19, 2007 There won't be any problems in the stands. While this is a good rivalry, both programs and fans have more class than to act like that. Montgomery is a surging program, and has a great season ahead of them, but GRC wins this 42 -28.
Doodlebug Posted August 19, 2007 Posted August 19, 2007 A definite battle. GRC wiill come out on top! 32-27. Really hope that the fans (on both sides) show up with the class that MNCM talks about. Sometimes this rivalry really can get nasty.
MNCM Posted August 19, 2007 Posted August 19, 2007 Agree 100%, Doodlebug. I know with the exciting playoff game last Nov, that people have been waiting for a long time to see these two teams on the field.
GRC4LIFE Posted August 19, 2007 Posted August 19, 2007 Good game, close battle then GRC pulls away toward the end winning by 1 or 2 tds. Agreed this has to be one of the biggest(nastiest) rivalries in the state.
Plato Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 Coach Gooch has the Montgomery Co. program turning the corner - Kaleb Curtis runs wild and MC wins in a war: 21-20
BigCat2112 Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 If GRC, can cover the pass and keep Kaleb Curtis in check, they will pull off a 21 - 14 win. On The other hand, MC, want need worry to about stopping #42 Greene, who went about 38, miles south of Winchester, to play football at Eastern Kentucky. But hold on MC, they have about 5 players that can take it to the house any were on the field. 21 - 14, Cards in a close one.
BigCat2112 Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 Dan Gooch, lost to Clark Co by - 4 points last year in the playoffs. 28 - 24 Curtis threw for about 172 yards and rush for 102, after a poor start Montgomery Co, made afew adjustments at halftime and came up with 24 unanswered points to make a killer endding to a great game.
MNCM Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 Coach Gooch won't be focusing on #42 or anything that happened last year. He will have his team focused, ready to play, and concentrating on this year. Caleb Curtis is a great QB. If he has time to set his feet, he will have a huge passing day. But if he gets pressure from inside (#79 Fox) and outside (#81 Tackett) this will force him to improvise. But Clark's defense had better be ready because he can run also. If Mason can continue to get all the time he needs to pass, his recievers (#10 Clark, #38 Hardiman, #5 Lewis, and #20 Thomas) will all have huge recieving days.
BigCat2112 Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 Why would he be focusing on # 42, and as far aslast year goe's, are you kidding, watching last years playoff game would improve Gooches game plan and Columbias. I can't imagine why any coach at the start of the season would'nt use last years clips as atool too prepare them for the first game of the season. Key players for GRC, #15 Conners, #5 Lewis,#10 Clark, #1 Mason, #79 Fox, #81 Tackett and my man, Leggitt. All these kids are top key seniors, for GRC.
