I will pick Newport Central Catholic over Beechwood by 7. The final will be Newport Central Catholic 21 and Beechwood 14. At this time of year with Beechwood healthy it is an even match. I think NCC has just enough to get by them otherwise. Good LUCK to both teams.

I think the winner will be the team with the most points at the end of overtime.

I am tempted to pick Ashland this game because a JC fan did not like me picking an upset over JC at the end of the regular season. However, JC has made me a believer and it looks like they are going to be hard to stop with their power offense and rock solid defense. I pick JC 21 and Ashland 7.

This game is a coin toss. Heads Trinity wins. Tails Ballard loses. Come on. Trinity is alot better than Ballard that is just a simple fact. Trinity wins easily by at least 28.

John Hardin has improved each game. Not sure about this Meade Co. team. I pick John Hardin at home by 14.

I pick LCA to win this rematch. It will be a close one. I say the Eagles by 6 over the Rams. Good LUCK to both teams. This is the game I would travel to if my team was not in contention.

Boyle wins this one and continues to improve as they have the last five or six games.

How do you see this as a call for attention? I saw some kids wearing long sleeve under armour and some kids with bare arms. Are the kids with bare arms in the freezing cold saying look at me I am tough. I think not. Coach Walsh was wearing shorts. Other coaches wore long pants or sweats. Should Coach Glaser tell Coach Walsh to get in uniform and coach. I think not. Get over the shoes. WE ARE ST. X (gold shoes included).

Lexington Catholic wins this one by 7. This is one of those games where the teams are evenly matched and that I believe the game will be won by the team that lost the first game. If these two teams played 10 times each would win 5. I just feel it is Lexinton Catholics turn unfortunately for Frankly County.

The issue is whether the shoes are a distraction to the team and more importantly is the person wearing them for the wrong reason and is that player a distraction to the team. The answer is no. The Band of Brothers is still intact and Vic's senior leadership along with the other seniors ensures this. If your perception is otherwise I do not think the team cares. By the way, those shoes are ugly.

Covington Catholic wins this close game. I see no reason they won't repeat the regular season match up. Covington Catholic 28 - Highlands 21.

Rocks win easily. Ballard has improved and has the right attitude but they will not beat Trinity.

02Ram54 I agree with your assessment of this years Manual team. They will have better seasons ahead of them. I feel they exceeded expectations this year. I do differ and think X should and will win tonight. Obviously I am predjudice. I do think alot would have to go right from Manual and a lot go wrong for St. X in order for the Rams to escape with the victory. By the way, it will be special for Manual to play at Papa Johns friday. Has Manual ever played there before? I do not think it is old hat for the X team. I know they have played there at least once a year but each time they go and play there they are very much made aware of how special a priviledge it is and each class does not take it for granted. Here's to hoping each team has an injury free night and relishes the opportunity to play in the Pizza Box.

I like North Hardin in this one. I heard the cheerleaders had some big turnover in personnel this year at Meade due to some disagreements with the school's administration. Seriously! This game is going to be so close I had to reach for something.

The Pizza Box looks good for this Friday night's playoff games, depending on the outcome of Thursday night's game between Louisville and West Virginia. Let's hope the sports turf field can hold up to all the hype, and that overly excited or overly disappointed Cards fans do not tear up the field. Good LUCK Cards!:banana:

The only thing I see different than the last game is Ryle's winning margin increasing. I look for them to be runner-up in the state championship game on November 30.

Manual exceed my preseason predictions this year. I thought with the young new talent and loss of so many key players and number of seniors I expected them to finish .500 or less. They have done well. I did not see however that the first game with St. X was all that close. I predict St. X will win this one by a greater margin. The last game was 20 - 6 St. X. I predict this game will be 35 - 7 in favor of St. X. I still believe Manual's teams the prior two years were better than this years team. However, after seeing them this year and the way the young players have stepped in they will be tougher to beat next year.
