  1. I have come to the conclusion from several of your comments that recruiting is going on everywhere all the time. However no on has sent a written protest to the KHSAA. And if they had, the KHSAA would then immediately investigate and report their findings and take appropriate actions. Which is it? 1. Recruiting is not happening at all. 2. Recruiting is happening but not on an institutional level (Only fans and boosters talking to kids). 3. Recruiting is happening on an institutional level (Coaches and employees/representatives of the schools) Which is it? 1. Publics are recruiting. 2. Privates are recruiting. 3 Publics and privates are recruiting. Which is it? 1. Rural schools are recruiting. 2. Urban schools are recruiting. 3. Rural and Urban schools are recruiting. Which is it? 1. The KHSAA has received no written reports. 2. The KHSAA has received written reports but has failed to act. 3. The KHSAA has decided to be hands off. 4. The KHSAA has no real powers to investigate recruiting.
  2. St. Xavier wins big. Too much defense and offensive strength for this Central team. However, I look for Central to move on in 3A and contending strongly for the state title.
  3. I am not arguing your point. I think we agree on this. But do you not think that a report in the paper with quotes from a student, parent, and athletic director would not warrant at least a phone call from someone at the KHSAA and some sort of finding published by them. In this case I believe the article said a written communication was going to the KHSAA.
  4. RRR are the rules being broken or not? I have yet to see the KHSAA step into this perceived (justly or unjustly) recruitment going on and do something. They are doing nothing thus hurting the group they are suppose to protect and monitor. Their inaction either exonerating or vilifying the accused, in my opinion, is dereliction of duty. It is one of the major reasons for all this separation and divisiveness we have now. If they would only take some action to investigate these accusations and take appropriate action it would be better for all.
  5. I do not understand why an athletic director in Indiana would get so upset that a family in Indiana would decide that it is best if their child would attend a school in the state of Kentucky. Can someone please explain this to me? I do not care the reason the family decides this. It is their decision. No on else's. If anything a person in professional education should be happy that the family felt that they have found what they believe is the best option for their child's education. After all isn't this what it is all about, the kids education.
  6. Is anyone breaking the rules? Is there an investigation? Have charges been brought? Is the KHSAA doing anything? These questions continue to go unanswered by the powers that be. As long as they are not addressed publicly by the KHSAA and are not investigated by them, the rumors, innuendos, false statements, and hearsay will continue and grow more and more. The KHSAA needs to do something, make a statement, begin an investigation, anything other than sitting on its hands. It is obvious that the leadership of the KHSAA over the past few years has been poor at best.
  7. What a great game. I do not know why other than I think Ryle is on a role, I will pick them by 3.
  8. I am glad to have Manual in St. Xavier's district. They have been a very tough opponent over the past few years. A play here or there and they get that big win everyone is looking for at Manual. Coach Nichols has them there it is a matter of execution by Manual and their opponent. You can not put it totally on the Coach. If I am not mistaken this is a young Manual team this year and will continue to make some noise. I think the belief factor is what is lacking and it is getting stronger. I have a feeling that Manual is really looking forward to a rematch with St. Xavier this year. Back to the question at hand, in any other year with I would pick Manual above to stop a St. Xavier Trinity rematch. However, I think the St. Xavier defense is too tough this year for that to happen especially with Manual potentially having to come to Brother Thomas Moore Stadium for the rematch. So I pick Henry Clay as the most likely to prevent a St. Xavier Trinity rematch this season. I do think Trinity will most probably beat Henry Clay. I just think this will be the toughest match up of all.
  9. All except Marion County and St. Xavier will be defeated. I flipped a coin.
  10. I will pick Bullitt East by one. Football is fun this weekend.
  11. I look for this one to be a close one with Bourbon County winning by 7.
  12. St. Xavier has it in their package (the wishbone) and uses it quite effectively on short yardage and goal line. I see it used quite a bit but never as the base package for any team in awhile.
  13. My son was recruited by St. Xavier, Trinity, DeSales, Holy Cross, Male, Manual, and Butler. St. Xavier won out. We received a tuition bill for $8,775. I have the documents and canceled check to prove it.
  14. The damage, if the allegations are not true, is already done. Ripping him after the fact is pretty meaningless. I can not help to go back to my thought in this debate that how any school system can think that a young person is theirs because of where they live. They may or may not be theirs depending on whether they and their families decide whether or not to attend that school.
  15. I noticed St. Xavier and Trinity both have icons on BGP you can click on for free stuff or be sent to their web sites. If I am a middle schooler and click on these is this recruiting? I see by literally interpreting the rules this probably is recruiting. I coach many middle school sports and often wear my alma mater apparel. This too is by rule recruiting is it not?
  16. See St. Xavier's response at http://www.saintx.com/news/news.asp?ID=2717
  17. Level 1 = All schools No Level 2 No Level 3 No Level 4 OK. Most think this is unfair. How about: Level 1 = Anyone who has won a state Championship in the last 20 years. Level 2 = Any one who has ever won a state Championship in greater than 20 years plus all the runners up in the last 20 years. Level 3 = Everyone else. Level 4 = No one. We do not want to water this down.
  18. I agree. Is high school football in KY the best in the nation? No. But we are not far behind the powers. There is alot of talent in KY. The quality of high school football in the state as a whole continues to improve. This is despite continued efforts by the KHSAA to water it down. Congrats to St. Xavier and all Kentucky teams for continued improvement and quality of play.
  19. He signed up, took the entrance exam, paid his tuition, and showed up for class.
  20. It is not just a game it is an event around a game. I was not embarrassed. To me it adds to the color of the rivalry. I have seen some pretty spirited happenings involving this game.
  21. I believe St. Xavier wins decisively 30+. No let down here. I have not seen Butler play but form what I have read they are down a little this year.
  22. OK. We will try and save you some money this year. I would not enjoy anything more than meeting Trinity again. What a great rivalry. Good LUCK the rest of the way Rocks.
  23. I would not dare look past Manual. They were St. Xavier's toughest opponent to date.
