  2. It depends on what level of collegiate sports you are talking about. In D-1 players are for the most part commodities. It is a lot like the futures market. If you are damaged goods the higher the risk. D-1 programsare athletic businesses and look hard at their investments.
  3. After many months following this thread and others I thought I would throw out what I feel on this issue. (So have at it.) My first choice is to have one class. I know that this view is held by very few if anyone else. I just look at it as 14 to 18 year old kids playing a sport for their high school against 14 to 18 year old kids at another high school. To me it is that simple. My last choice is to seperate. Instead of taking a path of segregation I just feel inside that we should continue on a path of desegregation. However, like most here, I will have to settle for some where in between because that is where we are at. And like most people here, I will continue to voice my opinion and take the actions that I can to further my own personal choice.
  4. Louisville Central High School Coach Resigns. http://www.courier-journal.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070201/SPORTS05/70201029 He did a good job at Central. The next coach is taking over and up and coming program. I hope they get the right man for the job.
  5. GREAT POST! I am sorry to say I forgot about Darryl Drake. I will be watching for him in the Super Bowl. I was looking for another reason not to pull for the Colts. Now I have found it. Thank you.
  6. Trinity High School (Shamrocks) set record for most state titles 17.

  8. If You think Vic Anderson will "disappear" you do not know Vic Anderson.
  9. Who is talking about third string players? By the way every where I have played or coached all the players felt appreciated. If a coach is to the point where he is feeling down and unappreciated, he had better get over it quick (or resign). Because you are right it is not about the score on friday nights and it is definately not about the coach. It is about the kids. Coaching is sometimes and I would even say in most cases a thankless and tough job. If your are prone to sulking then it may not be for you. If you can not take feeling unappreciated then it may not be for you.
  10. If a coach is feeling down and unappreciated they should resign.
  11. I was able to attend two of the four games and, despite the KHSAA, what a great time. Congrats to all the champions and runners-up on a great seasons. Clear your calendars for next years championship games. Despite all the politics in the KHSAA, private vs. public, number of kids at your school vs. the number at my school in the same class, and lack of large media coverage, it is still high school young men of the same age group buckling it on and playing football. Thanks to all these young men for playing, participating, and giving it their all. All the teams seemed to represent themselves as winners in all aspects. I will be there to support you all again next year. GREAT SEASON! :dancingpa
  12. I was at this game and the one before. Congrats to CovCath on the Championship and the Purples on a great season. Be sure and mark your calendars for next years finals. Even if your team is not in a championship game, it is well worth the trip to watch these games. Despite the KHSAA, it is still young men competing at the highest level. A true gem for the high school football fan.
  13. I was at this game and the next one. Wow. What a finish. Congrats to NCC on the Championship and the Admirals on a great season. Be sure and mark your calendars for next years finals. Even if your team is not in a championship game, it is well worth the trip to watch these games. Despite the KHSAA, it is still young men competing at the highest level. A true gem for the high school football fan.
  14. Ryle was a mountain for most teams to get over this year. So go North instead. I know on BGP there is alot of what if, and it is fun. In the end no argument Ryle is number 2. They have the trophy. Raider Nation do not think otherwise. Keep building.
  15. #1 State Champion Trinity. #2 State Runner-Up Ryle. That is why we have a tournament to determine this. This is not the BCS or other bowl system. If you doubt Ryle is number 2, ride to the mountains and see their trophy. Then check your teams trophy case and see if the covert is bare. You can not win this argument.
  16. Great coach. Great players. Great school. Great community. Great team.
  17. The team that is ahead at the time wins...........................
  18. Yes it should be a consideration. I imagine they will cancel school on Thursday at Ryle. The game being on Thursday also puts a burden on students and parents considering it is a school night and a work day. It also means travel to anyone outside of Louisville. Again, way to go KHSAA.
  19. What is enough? Henderson's coaching staff what ever their tactics have done a great job at Henderson this year. You can disect it however you want, the bottom line is they made to the state semi-finals. The only better teams in the end are Ryle and Trinity in the finals. Ryle has had an excellent year to this point, however I do not see them getting past Trinity. Not even close.
