  1. There seems to be a growing number of football games between Kentucky and Ohio schools. In Kentucky is this competition unique between the two states. Northern Kentucky and Louisville schools seem to be playing Ohio schools on a regular basis. Does this happen in other parts of the state? Why not? I know of no cross state games between Indiana schools and Louisville schools. Yet we are right accross the river.
  2. Does any one see the quick kick use much these days? What about the swing or rugy style kick?
  3. He hasn't gotten much opportunity lately to do that. :thumb:
  4. Ok. Let me put it a little milder for you. I believe Boyle County is favored and should win the game. However, I think Lexignton Catholic wil beat the favored Boyle County by a close margin of one point at Boyle County. Later that evening after the St. Xavier Simon Kenton game when I am listening to the Kentucky High School Scoreboard Show and they announce that Lexington Catholic beat Boyle County I will say "That is Huge". All kidding aside, Good Luck to both teams it should be a great ball game.
  5. It is Wyatt Gray. He struggled early in the season with field goals and extra points while also pulling duty at receiver. He now is only kicking and and is back to old form. He is a good kicker. It is a weapon in High School to have a kicker who can kick it in the end zone. Last Friday night against Ryle a few of his kickoffs did not break the plane of the end zone but the kicks were very high and allowed for great kick coverage. The kick coverage is also greatly improved since the beginning of the year. I guess one of the disadvantages of consistently kicking it in the endzone is your kick off team can get complacent at when it does not go in the end zone you get caught with you pants down.
  6. This is a great article. http://news.cincinnati.com/article/20091118/COL19/911190372/1156/COL19/It+took+a+village I love it. Bring it on Simon Kenton. Are you ready for some football!!! Have a safe trip down. :dancingpa
  7. I do. I belive Boyle County is highly favored (See the Pole Attached).
  8. You will never get everyone to agree, but I will. This game sets up beautifully in my opinion. I am sticking with my score St. Xavier 28 and Simon Kenton 14. I expect a good game from both with St. Xavier in control throughout. I am not sure St. Xavier really has a second team anymore becasuse so many have seen action on the first team but I would be pretty suprised to see any threes on the field for St. Xavier in this one. I expect to see a tough opponent and hope they bring the fan support they deserve to this caliber of a game despite it being on the road. Nothing like high school footbal playoffs.
  9. With Central missing their star LB/TE Patterson and starting QB King, does any one see this game differently?
  10. Patterson out. http://www.courier-journal.com/article/20091117/SPORTS05/911170374/1031/Central+star+LB+Patterson+out+for+season I may have to change my vote.
  11. What are these two teams strengths and weaknesses?
  12. I have been paying attention. It is good to see them winning. I think they wil start to be noticed after this 21 point victory.
  13. I am picking Highlands to win this one because the John Hardin fans seem to want to meet them so bad in Bowling Green.
  14. Lexington Catholic by 1 over Boyle County in what I believe to be a huge upset.
  15. Central wins by one. Not the same team as in the past two seasons but still enough to squeak by a tough Henry County squad.
  16. John Hardin wins this one by 21 pulling away in the fourth quarter. Oldham County is playing its best football coming into this game but in the end it is just not enough.
  17. Interesting. It sounds like you are saying this game boils down to coaching and game planning.
  18. I pick Beechwood by 7 in what I believe will be a high scoring affair.
  19. I have not seen Simon Kenton play. I have seen some of thier opponents play (Ryle, Manual, Henry Clay). I have read the related game threads here and elswhere. My prediction is that St. Xavier wins this game 28 - 14. They will win not because of speed or because they play football in Louisville or any reason other than I believe they are the better football team. And that is on biased and strong opinion.
  20. How fast was Bryan Station? How much speed did they have?
