  1. Nice pic of Griffin making another one of his patented catches. Not sure about the overall color scheme though (i.e., red jersey, gold helmet, purple socks, Bluebirds emblem on helmet). I hope he's not trying to make a fashion statement. Congrats on your MVP award Brandon! This is a very humble yet talented young man. :thumb: Sounds like the game was a great deal of fun. I'm sorry that I missed out....
  2. Patrick Nerl's play vs. Newport has to go down as one of the top Sophomore performances of the season. I believe he was 9 for 9 from 3-Point land...Amazing! Congratulations Patrick. Great kid that loves to play the game......
  3. Fair or Foul -- Nice assessment of the 2007 Camel Squad. The key here is strength in numbers. If my math is correct, the Camels will have approx. 150 players (Freshman through Seniors) in the program for the 2007 campaign. Coach Styer and his Staff are doing all of the right things! Lots of athleticism at all grades + many skilled players returning! I agree, the Fighting Camels will make a run in 2007.....
  4. ....Ditto for Camel fans! Good Luck Raiders.
  5. Vince reminds me of a great back in the late '70's...George Rudd of Boone County. George would run over anyone that stood in his way! Congratulations on a great season Vince! Keep it going...Only "Two Mower" to go! Keep Murray mowing'em down. :fight:
  6. The fan split was 50/50 at best! The Camel "Believers" extended from the left side of the stands to across the front of the press box. An amazing showing for a road playoff game! :dancingpa Nonetheless, the stands were packed and a nice turnout for two great teams. You can't have a solid football program without a strong fan base. Congratulations to the District Champion Raiders! You were an excellent opponent. Also a big congrats to our District Runner-ups -- The Fighting Camels! You have helped put the Pride back in "Camel Pride". To Ryle. Now show Meade the "Mower".....Murray Mower that is! Make No. Ky 4A football proud. Good Luck!
  7. CCH wins as Highlands is disqualified for attempting to sneak the "cannon" through the gate disguised as a big Bluebird cake. Sort of the same theme as the "Trojan Horse" but this time it backfires.
  8. ....and CC cheerleaders (sorry I forgot you girls)!
  9. An incredible night of high school football. Reminded me of a great heavyweight fight...15 Rounds of non-stop action! :fight: Congratulations to Coach Styer, his coaching staff, the players, team managers, and the person that keeps 'em all patched up (Angie Lambert)! The Fighting Camel Caravan (the fans) and CC "Band of Pride" were out in full force packing the Visitor's stands and doing their part...Awesome job! Classic game in a great high school football environment! The Rebels are (and will always be) a formidable opponent. Congratulations to Coach Thompson and his team on a great season! :thumb: Don't stop BELIEV'IN Camels.....
  10. I'll respond one last time and allow you to have the final word on this one! Kenny Walker is a first year player that was given an opportunity in this final "JV" game to see some action. I attended every Varsity & JV game and Kenny's time was extremly limited. He was not high on the depth chart only because of his lack of game time experience! However, he busted his "hump" all year and was rewarded with a little PT. Great young man who wanted the thrill of playing football at least one year. No harm, no foul! CC has several QB prospects for the future. Andrew is an exceptional young talent that was given an opprtunity to improve his skill level vs. a good Dixie squad. Yes, he did start a number of JV games as well.
  11. Here's a recent picture of Bob Miller Stadium (The Pyramid) for your reference. This picture was taken in July at the annual volunteer workday. The stadium seats over 4,000+. The visitor side of the stadium consists of a heavily wooded, sloping hillside that would be difficult and costly to develop. In the 30+ years that this stadium has been existence, there have been very few (if any) situations like the bottle throwing incident on Friday night. If a student threw the bottle (possibly forgivable), if a parent threw it (INEXCUSABLE) and should be banned from future sporting events!
  12. I find it interesting how only the negative always seems to come through! No mention of the positive comments for the Dixie player, the injury concern for the Sophomore WR, or the use of a Freshman @ QB who played the entire game and made the winning toss. Sorry to disappoint....CC's program and reputation are just fine!
  13. The Camels (7-1) closed out their JV season with a 21-14 nail-biter over the Colonels @ Dixie's awesome new complex. Camel's Freshman QB Andrew Eshman hits 6'7" Kenny Walker in the end zone with 9 seconds remaining for the winning score. Hard fought game on both sides of the ball. Dixie's #36 (Justin Maxwell) is one heavy load @ RB. Reminds me a little of the "Bus". Tough runner! Met him following the game and a very nice kid as well. On a sad note, the Camel's Sophomore wide out Tony Bishop (#25) looks to have fractured a collar bone. His second in the last year. Tony's a gamer and I know he will be ready to help fill Brandon Griffin's shoes next year. Also, some props to Corey Porter with 3 picks in the game. Kid's got radar... Congratulations to Camel's JV Head Coach Adam Nelson, staff, and players on a great season.:ylsuper:
  14. On 4th Down, the Offense committed pass interference which resulted in loss of down. Ball turned over to the Camels.
  15. They beat both Pendleton County (10/2) and Scott (10/5) this week.
  16. Zach Rose had 2 TDs and ran for about 150 yards.
  17. That game will be played on Wednesday, Oct 18th @ CovCath (5:00 PM kick-off). Originally scheduled for Thursday, Oct 19th.
  18. Ryle 21 -- CC 7. Ryle was hot early jumping out to a quick 14 -0 lead. Strong Ryle running game, passing game was non-existent. This was nearly a mirror image of last night's varsity game. CC's (Freshman QB Eshman) mishandled the snap for turnovers twice. Both near the goal line. Eshman threw the ball nicely and showed great composure (despite the 2 fumbles). Camel running game looked good as well. Great effort by both teams......
  19. This game can be summarized as follows: 1) 8 CC Turnovers (I believe 3 fumbles and 5 picks). Ryle's D is solid but the Camels insisted on shooting themselves in the foot all evening. Despite the interceptions, the Camel's QB (Brown #12) gave a valiant effort. The Camel "O" is much better than what they showed on Friday night. 2) Field Position. Ryle's kicking game was incredible. They kept the Camels backed up for most of the game. The punter (#28) did a good job and the place kicker (Uminger #14) was outstanding. This kid has to be a D1 prospect. What a leg! The Camel's PK Hildebrand did not get a chance to showcase his stuff. He's got a cannon for a leg as well. Despite the score, it was a hard hitting, fun game to watch. It was close all the way up to the the 4th Quarter where 3 Camel TO's lead to easy Ryle scores. Ryle is well on their way. The Camels must make some adjustments but they will be in the thick of the 4A District hunt.
  20. Sandman --hope none of the boys who play 4A football read your post -- that ought to make them feel real good after all the hard work and effort they put in each and every day. Is that the best comment you could come up with?
