Camels Vs. Dixie (JV) -- Final Game

Featured Replies

The Camels (7-1) closed out their JV season with a 21-14 nail-biter over the Colonels @ Dixie's awesome new complex.

Camel's Freshman QB Andrew Eshman hits 6'7" Kenny Walker in the end zone with 9 seconds remaining for the winning score.

Hard fought game on both sides of the ball. Dixie's #36 (Justin Maxwell) is one heavy load @ RB. Reminds me a little of the "Bus". Tough runner! Met him following the game and a very nice kid as well.

On a sad note, the Camel's Sophomore wide out Tony Bishop (#25) looks to have fractured a collar bone. His second in the last year. Tony's a gamer and I know he will be ready to help fill Brandon Griffin's shoes next year.

Also, some props to Corey Porter with 3 picks in the game. Kid's got radar...

Congratulations to Camel's JV Head Coach Adam Nelson, staff, and players on a great season.:ylsuper:

Isn't Kenny Walker a senior?

Since when do seniors play JV?

When they aren't good enough to play varsity, and the coaches fell sorry for them so they will jeapordize the development of younger players just so the player can get some PT. It happens all the time and it happened to my sophmore year and I wasn't happy about it...

Kenny is a senior who never played football before, and wanted to play some his last year.

Seniors aren't suppossed to play JV. Can't believe Campbell played one (at least). It sure doesn't help their program, or reputation.

I find it interesting how only the negative always seems to come through!

No mention of the positive comments for the Dixie player, the injury concern for the Sophomore WR, or the use of a Freshman @ QB who played the entire game and made the winning toss. Sorry to disappoint....CC's program and reputation are just fine!

I've got nothing against Campbell County, but if they're using a freshman at quarterback and a senior as a wide out in a JV game, how fine is the program? Aren't most guys in those classes playing other levels, while sophs and juniors get JV reps?

Given your screen name, I'm not sure that's a good thing. :scared:

I'll respond one last time and allow you to have the final word on this one!

Kenny Walker is a first year player that was given an opportunity in this final "JV" game to see some action. I attended every Varsity & JV game and Kenny's time was extremly limited. He was not high on the depth chart only because of his lack of game time experience! However, he busted his "hump" all year and was rewarded with a little PT.

Great young man who wanted the thrill of playing football at least one year. No harm, no foul!

CC has several QB prospects for the future. Andrew is an exceptional young talent that was given an opprtunity to improve his skill level vs. a good Dixie squad. Yes, he did start a number of JV games as well.
