  1. Great game. Samsel was open 2nd half as JTown was tagging Jenkins. Samsel finished by far with the most points of his career with 20 points as he was averaging just over 6 points. Samsel 20, Jenkins 17, Williams 14, Kimbro 12 (6 of 15 from field) but did have 9 assists.
  2. Without question, JTown is the favorites in this one. The outcome will be decided by how the PG for Manual keeps others involved and negates the Charger's pressure. A lot of good games tonight.
  3. You might be right. Its tough to replace 10 points per game.
  4. Male wins over Eastern in close one. Male DOES have the best inside/outside combination and Lannon the PG gets everybody involved. Heyman is the difference as he won't be denied on the boards. Mitchell at 6-6 for Male adds additional height to Male's roster and he's a scoring option as well. Ballard over Central. Too much depth and too much perimeter game for Central. Central does have the height as you say and regardless of whether or not Ballard is hitting, if Central can control the paint and Central's guard can get it inside without turning it over it will be a close one that could have Central playing Saturday morning. Manual over Jeffersontown. Jeffersontown likes to play the "fast and the furious" style game. They have the shooter and horses that can run the court. IF the PG for Manual doesn't let Jeffersontown's defense dictate Manual's offense and gets the ball to the scorers and Jenkins, then Manual has a chance for the upset. Manual should win the rebounding edge and this will only help if Manual does not turn the ball over. DeSales over Madisonville. DeSales has been here before. They have experience in playing in front of large crowds and their student section will play a role in the game. Mullaney excels because his TEAM knows he is vital in the offense in order for the Colts to win. That kind of unselfishness is why DeSales succeeds even when they are not stacked with talent. Mville does have Hood, but Darnell Moore is the blue-collared worker who hits the boards. DeSales will have to eliminate the Maroons rebounding edge and 2nd chance points to win. Colts by a few in this one.
  5. What makes Sewell a top 100 player nationally?
  6. Anyone who had not seen DeSales play until last night saw were talking about how they underestimated them. Well-coached and a very balanced attack has DeSales at the forefront of winning the 6th a nice inside game anchored by 6-7 Melloan and a floor leader in heady Mullaney gives DeSales a tough inside/outside game.
  7. Here is the link to see the four game results for the opening round of the LIT. http://www.courier-journal.com/blogs/khs/blog.html

  9. Rose Hill stepped outside of the 16th Region schedule more than any team in the 16th and lost some games against the elites. I would dare to say some of the other teams in the 16th would have fared the same. Rose Hill should be commended for playing a much more rugged schedule, not the opposite.
  10. A lot of games will determine these rankings over the next week or so. The rankings could be headed for some real shake-ups.
  11. It's good to see #23 Sewell playing better. Had been struggling in 7th region play and in the tourneys.
  12. Actually he was suspended twice according to the story. He will shake things up in the 5th if he stays on the court.
  13. Lets do this, would any other team in Kentucky have the same record and results if they played their schedule?
  14. And Adair beat Henry Clay without 6-6 Victor Moses which is 23 points and 11rebounds per game from their best player. Beating Ballard was a strong win though. Manual finished 3rd in the KOB and defeated Fayette a team that beat Ballard by 14. Thumped Rose Hill and beat one of the 8th region favorites in Anderson County. As the season goes on, Manual will be tough for anyone to beat. There will be some changes as the season goes on and the rivalry's start playing within their own regions.
  15. Believe me, the out-of-state team that Ballard lost to would be a front runner to win kentucky's Sweet 16 if they were a state team. Fayette was like playing against D1 college team.
  16. Why not? Henderson would be about the 12th player mentioned for a Kentucky high school senior to walk on at UK.
  17. Miller will do fine. He has strength and will be a slasher and not a full-time post player. Miller should actually create mismatch problems with his size out on the wings.
  18. Most people have not seen a high-major D1 game up and close. Watching the game from 20-feet away gives you a whole new perspective on what a D1 prospect really is. Nice post.
  19. I wouldn't sweat it. People in he know understand they are garbage.
  20. Actually, there is a chance they will be discontinued or at least overhauled. There is some who say they will stop using them to select the LIT field as well.
  21. Coaches think they are both junk. They need to discontinue them both. Doss has one win and will make the LIT tourney. Wow!
