  1. Looking at the scoreboard, a loss to Madison Central the #3 team in the state at that time is not such a bad thing after winning the Glenn Academy tournament by defeating two top rated Georgia teams and a top 20 team out of Florida. Your point is?
  2. Yes, where do you think EC should be ranked at now after "taking Greenup to the woodshack"?
  3. Again, great win. Good luck to Greenup County in the future.
  4. I can promise you not every coach feels that way.
  5. Typical is 44 responses on this thread regarding a game that was between EC and "Average Joe's Gym" while Lex Cath was a top 5 team being knocked of by Cov Cath and the MC vs Tates Creek threads combined doesn't even equal half of this one. That is, I guess, typical. Great win for Elliott.
  6. No, but they played 15 to 20 games against top 25 teams while EC played one, maybe two during the regular season??? If you wanted a legit player to develop and prep for college level play, would the 16th be your first region of choice?
  7. Elliott did do something right. They won the games in front of them until they met up with a legit top 25 team and lost as predicted. Them reaching the regionals last year was great, but they reached it by not having to face Russell with Jon "Russell's 25 point-per-game leader" Vanhoose and Rose Hill lost in their one and only post season game in the first round of their district. Elliott is a good team in a below average region. That might not be the consensus on this messageboard, but it is throughout the state. I hope EC knocks off some good teams this year and that will eliviate a ton of doubters.
  8. I was going to ask the same thing. At least then, Elliott could say they have at least one game or more against a top 25 team.
  9. Only in the 16th would you get this comment in regards to a near 70 point loss. Everyone entitled to their opinion and most opinions will be favorable toward Elliott on this board and that's okay. One last note here, look at the two teams in the finals last year and check out their schedules. Now that's how you prepare for a deep run. Their records and stats came against whole two or three levels higher in comp and they were prepared come tourney time. Elliott did not face a ranked team throughout the tourney until the loss to Warren Central which was inevitable. I hope your right. I hope blowing out teams like this does help in the end. I have never met a competitor that left the court after a loss like this and think "hey, we learned something tonight." Don't think so. Again, great win.
  10. Thank you. It is a good thing that most teams do not adhere to your answer on #4. It would be rather ugly if all did. Good luck on your quest to making a deep run in the post-season.
  11. Stewart must have had an off night or was in foul trouble. 12 points is not something you expect from your leader and player that puts up the most shots. Cov Cath must have done a very good job of defending this future Air Force player.
  12. Hats off to Tates Creek. They must have really improved since the preseason game I saw. Interesting stat of 1 for 10 from 3's and MC still pulls out a double-digit win. MC wins two close battles and proves with the X on their back they will get eveyone's best shot.
  13. You are probably correct. But I did ask four questions. Could you kindly scroll up and take a moment to answer them?
  14. It doesn't really matter at this point. This will just reinforce what most of the state already believes. Elliott will have to get some quality wins at some time. Good win though.
  15. It appears they are finding out right about now.
  16. Cov Catholic is gritty and very well coached. They will do some damage this year and should be one of the teams still playing when the Sweet 16 starts.
  17. Four questions Liberty: What was Elliott's record against top 25 teams last year? How many regular season games does Elliott play against Top 25 teams this year? What was the purpose of beating a helpless team by continuing to score and run it up? Was there a shot-clock in this game? There are plenty of times when teams can steam-roll and demoralize teams this way but they choose to pull back.
  18. Christian County lost tonight to a Warren Central team that is down from graduating Jeremy Anderson and point guard Britt. But CC should be better than any comp in the 16th. All this score will do is reaffirm what the rest of the state believes, any top 25 team could walk through the 16th.
  19. Who will be Elliott's first legit team they play? Any top 25 teams coming up outside of the 5th/3rd Tourney.
  20. Not even one week in and two of the top 5 have lost games, Scott County and now Lex Cath.
  21. If Rose Hill should lose this game the doubters will chime in on Euton and Jackson.
  22. After seeing Tates Creek in a preseason game and now this, its gonna be a long long year for them in the 11th. Hopson still keeping his promise to be a force in "high school" hoops.
  23. Nice game for the Royals and hard fought till the end for Bryan Station. I believe the Defenders' tallest starter is 6-2 Shelvin Mack who plays the point. I'm guessing not only was Darius Miller the difference, but the lack of height of Bryan Station made it tougher to defend the Royals.
  24. You really don't know that until the games are played. Its only been one game. The fact is Ballard and Scott County could be equally down and it turned out that it created a great game. Let the Christmas tourneys come and you'll be able to state that opinion with a few more facts.
  25. That was last year. No Mackey and now Walls means nothing easy as you found out tonight. Ballard lost its two stars and top 5 players and Jamal Crook ruled ineligible. Male, Manual, Bryan Station, Lex Cath, are all capable of winning the regions and winning state for that matter.
