  1. Both teams have to win their regions first. Scott County has to deal with Lex Cath, Bryan Station, and a few others. Ballard has to face Manual and Male. Don't put the cart before the horse after ONE GAME.
  2. Is Ballard in the 11th region now. Must have been a classic.
  3. Then the debate is over, Renner says the 11th is best.
  4. Bring back the 11th and 7th Region debates. That should be interesting. Phares and Lee on the frontline against a small Ballard team wasn't enough. That's extremely interesting.
  5. Ballard has NO David Stanley (injured) and loses another projected starter in Martez. With no one over 6-3 in the starting line-up and all five new starters, now lets hear who wins the game. If Scott County cannot win this one, whoa!
  6. Ballard would have been a better test. Word I have is that they will be missing two starters in David Stanley (injury) and another player (name I don't know. Scott County will be the eas favorites.
  7. As long as Hudson at 5'10 is shooting layups the shots will fall. Outside of 5 feet is another story. Is it true though? Just 8 points? A kid could have hit a 3 with 10 seconds left in the game for Frankfort and been leading scorer. Wow.
  8. JBS sets new record for number of 3's taken in a game and scoring 95 points with only 2 FG's inside the arc. JBS wins easy.
  9. 1. Paducah Tilghman 2. UHA 3. Apollo 4. Franklin Simpson 5. North Hardin 6. Butler 7. Manual 8. Simon Kenton 9. Cov Catholic 10. Mason Co. 11. Bryan Station 12. Somerset 13. Corbin 14. June Buchanon 15. Paintsville 16. Elliott County TB-7th
  10. Never said they weren't best in the state. In my opinion they are now tops. Lexington Cath was bumped by Bryan Station yesterday and Mason County showed they are force behind Miller newly asserted aggressiveness.
  11. One scrimmage game against a team that had a losing record from a region that was less than average does not make a team on a whole new universe level. Is Mason County one of the top teams in the state, yes absolutely.
  12. Christian County beat UHA (this very same team) on UHA's last game the past season by 35 points. UHA is NOT a very good team. No one who was there tonight really made a comment about how good Mason County was except that Miller had 41 points and had a couple of back-to-back dunks that were pretty good.
  13. Not necessarily. When you have a talent like Miller, the media follows as does college coaches and Setty gets more looks than 95% of the rest of the state.
  14. Why? Because Mason County beat a team that was 13-14 last season. They looked the same. This doesn't really change anything.
  15. Read my earlier post, Miller 41 and Hopson 17. Mason coasted.
  16. Great for Miller, not so great for Hopson. Miller finishes with 41 points and MC wins both quarters and game comfortably. Hopson finishes with 17.
  17. Season officially starts in about 48 hours. Here's what we know: Rankings don't come on the court with you. If anything, they serve as a motivation for teams that are not highly ranked and are teams deemed as "not getting respect" or "underrated". Rankings don't get players scholarships. They are subjective and highly opinionated and no one really knows if they are ranked to show potential or what they've done up to this point. Player rankings don't state whether a player is there for the team or for individual stats. Rankings show points-per-game and rebounds, not FG%, minutes played, steals, turnovers, deflections, number of charges taken, a kid playing out of position for the betterment of his team, attitude, leadership, and "heart" to win. You can politic for a ranking "vote", but you can't politic for a "win". Rankings are other people's expectations of a team or player. The only expectations that count are the one's set by each team and by each player. In a nutshell, rankings are better done, when the season is complete, and the facts are in. Good luck to everyone! Have a great season. I hope this season "ranks" as one of the best in Kentucky.
  18. It's listed as one of the country's most top tournaments and is played in Louisville at Fairdale High School.
  19. What???? Hold on minute...All those 5-star recruits losing to a team with an average 2-star recruiting roster. No way.
  20. With both Rose Hill in the King of the Bluegrass and Elliott in the 5/3rd tourneys, the rankings will have worked themselves out by the new year.
  21. In a way, they did conquer the world. They exceeded all expectations when all proclaimed them impossible. Sound familiar? "Let the nobles squabble for votes from Longshanks." The votes are always skewed. What's more important, being ranked at the top of a high school poll or playing D1 basketball?
  22. I wouldn't worry too much about it. People in general that follows the high school level knows what the truth is. You have a few kids with three or five-plus D1 offers and they don't get the nod. One mis-placed or biased top vote can make the whole ranking appear out of sync. The point is, facts do carry weight but not neccessarily when votes like these occur. Ferguson has gotten it done. In the end, the only real thing that matters is getting to the next level and playing ball at the college level while getting an education for free. Just tell Ferg to keep playing his game and everything else will take care of itself. By the way, the movie 3000 is 2nd favorite on my list just behind Braveheart. "FREEEEEEEEEEEEEDDDOMMM!!!!!!!"
  23. And 3 of the top 10 are 7th Regions with five 7th Region teams making up the top 25. All but 2 teams in the Top 10 ARE 7th and 11th Region. Over one-third of the top 25 is the 11th and 7th Regions.
  24. And according to schedule posting the preseason Male Jamboree this weekend, Cov Cath plays #10 Manual Saturday.
