In the Coaches' Poll, 5 of the top 10 teams are from the 11th Region. 3 of the top 10 are from the 7th. In the Top 25 there are five (5) Seventh Region teams which is the same number for the 11th Region. Together, the 7th and 11th make over one-third of the entire Poll. Wow! Yes, the 11th gets the nod, but it ain't over-whelming.

It's hard to believe Mason County did not win the region last year in the 10th. It will be doubly hard to believe if they don't win the 10th this year too.

Manual returns 4 starters and 90% of their scoring. They have 3 of the top 10 players from the coaches poll in the region with Jenkins, Williams, and Cosby. Ballard loses 90% of the scoring and only returns one starter and will not start anyone over 6-2 in height. Male loses 4 starters. Jeffersontown loses 3-4 starters including Basey and Coleman. Trinity returns 3 or 4 starters and will compete for the region. Kentucky has a ton of talented teams this year. Don't know how many teams will be in the Fab 50 when the shake out occurs, but it will be fun to watch.

Good post...a couple of notes: Jon Wall should be Jon Hood of Madisonville-North Hopkins. Keyshawn Simpson is said to be not playing this year to focus on football.

Wow. Sounds like you are implying that your teammate is "selfish". Hopefully he will get you the ball this year and you can do your thing.

I see where we got off track. I had it as the Bryan Station playing Creek and not Mason vs Bryan Station. Gotta stop the caffeine splurge when I'm typing. Mason should handle Bryan Station by 12. There's not enough height to defend Miller effectively enough to pull the win. Station will try to run and will press as they are quicker in the backcourt. In the end, Mason will win by double digits (or should anyways).

Tates Creek is average at best. For Bryan Station, Mack at 6-3 is the tallest starter apparantly and is at the point. Even with little or no height, the Defenders will win by 12 or more.

Mosely was cut during tryouts by new coach. Word has him going to Prep school.

Hopson team finished below .500. Miller's team wins game. A kid can average 30 a game, but if it doesn't results in some wins then they are empty numbers. He did not make the team, he was cut for whatever reason. He is said to be transferring or already has. If in fact that is true, that would be four different schools in two years.

Fern Creek losing its top two players in Lee McGee and Mosely has now fallin out of the 7th regions top 10 and will be having a long season. Seneca beats Lincoln Coutny by 20.

Good post! Miller is the top player, but his teammates have an assist in that when it comes to helping Miller reach the top honors in Kentucky. Miller pulls solid stats and some of that can be due to the fact that Miller can enjoy some freedom (not being doubled and tripled team every possession) due to the fact that the other Mason players can hurt you if you don't pay attention to them. Miller will not win Mr. Basketball alone even if it is an individual award.

Most of your answers will come soon. The hype ends and reality starts. Its going to be an exciting year as more kids have D1 offers in quite sometime. Its good to be a Kentucky High School hoops fan right now.

Interesting, "rest of the usuals" is what we call the other programs outside of Mason, Scott Cty, and LC. Curious, why would all other fans outside of Mason County's followers hope that Mason makes (their) run?

Almost. Ballard almost won the title game too. But the trophy went to Scott County instead.

Explain why Ballard with only one starter back and no one over 6'3" in the line-up? What makes them the legit team to beat after losing 80% of all their stats and the top defender in the region Johanne Hamilton. Break it down for us. Male, Manual, and Trinity will all be better than Ballard. Just want to hear your reasoning though. Be constructive.

Actually, wasn't trying to be funny. The game should always be decided by the players on the court. There was one team that could still beat any other team despite even poor officiating last year, that was Scott County. They were a train and errant whistles didn't pose a threat to them winning the title. There an NO teams like that this year.

Could be a valid point. I wonder if any of the other 15 regional title games had poor officiating too.
