Macon's father apparently took a job in Taylor County and that prompted Macon's unexpected departure from Danville. However, it is surprising - and disappointing - that he didn't tell Harp or Yates of his decision.

 

Remember, Macon was suspended from the Danville football team before the state semifinals in 2006 and missed the state title game. That incident also led to him missing the 2006-2007 basketball season.

 

Harp let him back on the football team last summer and even let him miss a week of preseason practice to attend an all-star basketball tournament in Las Vegas. Yet Macon couldn't tell him personally that he was transferring.

Actually he was suspended twice according to the story. He will shake things up in the 5th if he stays on the court.

Sounds a little odd that he wouldn't even tell the coaches, but who knows?

I heard or read someplace that they had pulled the scholarship offer, but I don't know that to be fact.

From all I've heard and read, Sam Harp seems pretty happy to see him go.
