  1. Its going to be close thats for sure. Grant lost to Dayton 12-14 and Newport beat Dayton 13-0. Grant beat Ludlow 33-13 and Newport beat Ludlow only 13-6. I say it will be close. Grants on a roll of late. I say Grant makes it 4 in a row 21-13
  2. Who wins the crosstown rivalry? I say east jess 42-21
  3. I just so happend to read the Grant County Paper and the coach said the starters were left in the whole game with every intention of scoring more. It was there first homcoming they have won in 7 years. I think he stated it the best. “The JV team played on Monday,” Davis said. “The freshmen played on Thursday. This is the varsity night. My guys get to play one night a week. It's their homecoming and they deserve to shine.” http://www.grantky.com
  4. I heard through the grapevine that there were Trimble Coachs at the Grant Vs Owen game talking about how Owen just cant stop Grant and it could have been a lot worse. Now as far as the JV game, thats just it it's a JV game. There are plent of JV teams that score 60 and 70 in this area a nobody complains. Grant County rarely has had any success at any sport. Just let them play there always on the other ends of the beatings. They got a couple of really tough games coming up.
  5. 42 points is almost the most points Grant has ever scored in one game. I personally believe if you can score then score. Alot of high school players will never play football again. So why put younger players in and take away playing time for the older guys who will likely never play football again. The younger guys will get there chance. Grant has had teams run up the score on them. And one team a few years back even left the starters in through the middle of the 4th qtr because he was upset by a call at halftime.
  6. What about (I think the 2001-or 2002 line) with Rob Smith and Sean Sester (i think that was his name) how do they compare to this one and previous years?
  7. What part of the state does Pendelton, Grant, Galltain, and Owen fall under? I know people dont consider them NKY, but there not really central KY. I dont think any of these teams can have players make all-star teams because there not in anybodys region. I think Pendelton Grant and Gallatin should be considered NKY.
  8. It was a good win for Grant. They really needed it. After next weak the schedule is pretty tough. There best player is also no longer with the team. He didnt play in the Ludlow game.
  9. After GRant lost to Casey, I'd say it's going to be tough to win this one but I'll take them in a close. 28-21
  10. I'm not saying they will win all those games. Any of those games can go either way. Thats just the way I hope it goes. They have a very good chance of doing it.
  11. DATE OPPONENT SITE SCORE Aug 18, '06 Pulaski County Up in the air Aug 26, '06 Pikeville win Sep 1, '06 Woodford County could go either way Sep 15, '06 West Jessamine win Sep 22, '06 Western Hills win Sep 29, '06 Lexington Catholic Loss/ but should be close Oct 1, '06 Anderson County win Oct 6, '06 Franklin County another tough game. I can see them winning though. Oct 20, '06 Harrison County Harrison is always tough. I say East wins. Oct 27, '06 Bourbon County Win I say they should be no worse then 5-5. But 7-3 is my prediction. With loses to Woodford, Lex. Cath, and Franklin.
  12. He never had a winning record at Grant. 2-8 1rst year 1-9 2nd year 2-8 3rd year 4-6 4th year (5-5 due to forefeit) The program was on the rise before he left. Some players quit when he left, One of them even moved and played for him at East Jessamine. Grant went 4-6 again after Bowlin left. (schedule was MUCH easier then the previous 4 years) But thats beside the point. Were talking about EJHS. I do hope they do good this year and make the playoffs.
  13. When Coach Mike Bowlin coached at Grant County, they didnt win a lot. But his team always played hard no matter how much they where down. They where very undiscplined when he first came in but that changed very quickly. Being a disciplined team doesent mean your going to win more. But I look for them to win 7 or 8 games.
  14. With the schedule Grant plays they could easily be 6-4. If I'm not mistaken, all there linemen are good size but none of them come close to being 6 foot. But height doesnt mean much in high school. I do look for them to run most of the time.
  15. I dont see why any player would want to leave the team they played for the previous 3 years. Regardless of a move or not I wouldnt personally want to play for another high school team my senior year no matter how good or bad my previous team was. I say they should be able to play as long as they show a change of residence.
  16. Has or When does the cat pause high school preview come out??
  17. MOST youth leagues or middle schools to feed to one certain high school. So as a high school coach or even a youth coach you would want or hope the youth/middle school team would run some of the same general plays the high school runs to help the kids be even more succesful when they hit high school as they would be familar some of the plays. Basically my point is, it wouldnt to hard to manage two different teams. I dont see it being leagal by the KHSAA though. Another thing though, how can the KHSAA stop you from playing in a outside league? I've never understood the NCAA. Your not hurting either league. Your just taking even more of a chance of getting hurt.
  18. Does anyone know where these boys are going to play college ball?
