Final Grant 42- 0 over Owen. Grant had a great game, 450 yards of offense and holding Owen to 29 yards rushing. Great job on both sides of the ball.

IMO- Pretty classless move from the Grant County side, leaving all of your starters in until 1 minute to go in the 4th quarter and still passing. When you pull stuff like that, it is usually when a kid ends up hurt from somebody on the losing team taking a cheap shot.

I don't think you are quite right on the whole starters thing. 2 JV lineman started and played the whole second half and I did not see any of Owen guys pulled for PT. I know Grant subbed almost the entire defense in the 4th quarter and that is when Owen had 2 big passes. But on offense they are very thin, they have 3 running backs out and 2 o-line out going into the game. The Freshman and Sophomores did get in at the end but the scoring was no run up 21 in 1st half and 21 in the 2nd.

42 points is almost the most points Grant has ever scored in one game. I personally believe if you can score then score. Alot of high school

players will never play football again. So why put younger players in and take away playing time for the older guys who will likely never play football again. The younger guys will get there chance.

Grant has had teams run up the score on them. And one team a few years back even left the starters in through the middle of the 4th qtr because he was upset by a call at halftime.

Grant did that same thing last night in a JV game. Leading 40-6 with 13 seconds to go, they had the ball on the 4 yard line and threw a pass and then went for 2 points, after they had kicked all night. Classy move!!

I hate to say it but I believe that was their Freshman team scoring against your JV. A freshman should be allowed to play in a blowout and if your team can't stop the freshman, well. And I know for a fact that the Freshman played the entire 4th quarter and some of the 3rd quarter. Heck about 6 freshman start, so don't cry over spilled milk.

you are right bluegrass, they could have score more and broke records but I can assure you they only score 21 each half. They had to handle their share of blowouts and they don't complain, just play and let it be

That was our freshmen team with 4 sophmores playing. All of our varsity are juniors, so our varsity is our JV. Still yet there is a thing called class. You could have easily taken a knee or even worked on kicking extra point instead of going for 2. But whatever allows you to sleep at night.

Hey I sleep fine and after finding out from the coach that the last touch down and 2 pt play was design to go to a "special ed kid then so be it. The coach even told me that the trimble coaches were told that after the game and they were fine with it. So let it go it is JV and I have seen plenty of teams not get in the victory formation when they have freshman in the game try to get them their dues, they practice all week long too and should get a little reward. All well hope Trimble improves this year and glad to see the team at the varsity level beating teams 39-6 and 52-20. It has been a long while since they have played that good. Keep up the good work.

I heard through the grapevine that there were Trimble Coachs at the Grant Vs Owen game talking about how Owen just cant stop Grant and it could have been a lot worse.

Now as far as the JV game, thats just it it's a JV game. There are plent of JV teams that score 60 and 70 in this area a nobody complains. Grant County rarely has had any success at any sport. Just let them play there always on the other ends of the beatings. They got a couple of really tough games coming up.

Only 1 kid that scored in the Grant County/ Trimble County game was a Freshman from Grant County. The kids that played the majority of the time for Grant County in the JV game also play/start the majority of time in Grant County's Varsity games.

Okay it's not Grant County's Job to stop themselves. That is not how football is played. It's up to each individual coach on when they play the other players in a blowout. I not saying I agree with running up the score. But because you cant stop a team should that team Punt on 1st down?

WHne a coach put is the JV/Freshmen those guys want to score too, so why not try and let them compete. It's up to the other team to stop them.

Thank you Coach Buckett, they practice just as hard as the varsity and deserve to play in the JV game and the Freshman deserve to play. What do you do in a Freshman game when you are winning big, all the middle school and see if they can bring over their team. the fact of the matter is that the JV that is nothing but Freshman and Sophomores play hard and won big, and in the game the other night the coach told me he put a running back in the game to play Qb and he did score and a freshman kid did throw the last TD. Also the opening kickoff returned and it was called back, or I guess it would have been worse. I guess everyone hated Steve Spurrier when he was at Flordia, but he is not much of a ball coach I guess. All I can say is the kids played hard and maybe the Freshman will do better on Thursday.
