  1. I do not understand how Covington Catholic is number 17 in the state. But I guess you have to throw in somebody from the 9th. There are about 7 teams that can compete for the 9th region championship it looks like right now. Cov Cath is over rated though.
  2. I agree, that was a bone-head mistake and it may have been the play that cost the tigers the game. Another thing you question is having Smith go out for the 6th inning. Anybody know his pitch count? I am sure it was pretty high.
  3. They get a big test tonight when they play Holy Cross @ St. Henry at 7pm.
  4. That is a very nice thing for Beechwood and their team to do. I am sure Myerhoff played coach Brown many times, he was a great guy and a great role model. As far as the focus goes for Snyder, I can understand where he is coming from. Losing a family member is very tough, but this young man is strong and I have no doubt that he will bounce back from this bad outing and will continue to do well on the mound.
  5. Yes, something along those lines. I would go with 20 after 3, 15 after 4, and the normal 10 after 5.
  6. HR count- Adam Gohs (Beechwood) 3. He seems to be the leader right now.
  7. Suprising score, I thought Beechwood would win by much more.
  8. Dayton has been like that for years, nothing against there coaching staff but they need to work these boys really hard and atleast get there minds into the game. If the coaching staff is laid back, the kids are going to be the same. It will be another struggle for Dayton this year but if they get the right people in there and kids that care, they can improve alot in the next 10 years.
  9. If im a coach i dont care what a kid says about staying in for 102 pitches in march, i am taking him out at 75 pitches. I know the kids want to win the game but you cant risk arm problems.
  10. Fair enough, if the 15 running didn't come in the 5th inning. Did Dayton commit a lot of errors to aide the juggernauts scoring?
  11. A lot of teams could beat Dayton 50-1, but playing bad competition like that doesn't help you. You could say that Cov Cath, Beechwood, and Ryle could beat them 100-1 but teams don't do that, and any coach that allows there team to score that many runs should be ashamed.
  12. This has nothing to do with this year's All A. I did not see the game but thanks for the summary. And how did you know he was hitting low 90's consistantly? Did you have a radar gun? The highest i heard of him being clocked at last year was 91mph and that was only 1 pitch, but he threw consistant 85-88mph.
  13. There win over Conner is good but the other 2 wins against Dayton and Calvary don't impress me, but as the season continues and they face better opponents and if they win, ill jump on the ship that Lloyd is better than dixie. Another thing that shoked me is that they beat Dayton 29-1. What coach allows there team to run the score up like that, that is horrible!
  14. Villa finishing second? Do they know that in order to win a game they first have to avoid being run-ruled every game out. I dont see how you pick them to be 2nd, they have been run-ruled by some bad teams this year. My prediction is Dixie, Lloyd, Ludlow, then Villa. Dixie will win the district because Lloyd, ludlow and villa will not be able to hit Nichols.
  15. NKY's "best team" losses again. UKfan14, do you have any input on this game, your favorite team seems to be struggling this year.
  16. Hitchcock is a junior isn't he? And i believe if you are a junior you are either 16 or 17 years of age. Summer league rules state that you must turn 17 no earlier than May 1st, 2008 to play for a 16U team this summer. So last year that would make it May 1st, 2007. I am 100% sure that Myerhoff's summer team is a 16U team. Name one player that played for them last year that was 17 years old before May 1st.
  17. If Holocher gets removed from Short Stop i expect there to be a person who donates a lot of money to take his place, maybe he can out-bid him for the spot.
  18. You make great points but IMO this isn't a game that you want a player to risk injury in and you definantly want to keep your pitchers on a low pitch count being as it is early in the season. With that being said, if you have to put in a weaker pitcher due to pitch count then you must do it. Both coaches and teams would have loved and played to win this game but im sure both coaches would rather have there team come out with a loss rather than an injured arm or something that will hurt there team later in the year.
  19. And now a few things you dont know. Chris Miller is a senior. And all of those players with the exception of Trent Pickett are all too old to play for Myerhoff's team because he coaches a 16U team. I do not see how you compare a 18U team to a 16U team, but if you would like to throw in any other false assumptions then go for it. I would have to say Myerhoff has a great program with Lions and Beechwood, a lot more success in high school ball than Terrel has had over at St. Henry. :flame:
  20. I am right there with you, makes no sense to see Henderson County rise in the polls after losing and polls not giving Hopkinsville any respect.:irked:
  21. I believe 3 of Beechwood's top 4 pitchers played for Myerhoff last summer. Smith, Hadden, and Snyder. Also Adam Gohs (would have been top 5 hitter in the 9th last year if Beechwood reported stats. Also Trent Pickett, starting Right fielder for Beechwood and Chas Hyde Left fielder played for him. Oh and dont forget about 3b/ outfielder Brady slusher, he is just a solid 4 hitter! Also Chris Miller, starting catcher and starting second baseman Richie Williams, and 1st baseman Chris Morris played for Myerhoff in the summer of 06 but was too old this past year. The only player that played for the colonels from Beechwood was Cody Elliott, and where did he play the previous year??? Oh thats right, he played for Myerhoff. So please enlighten me on Beechwood's elite players that didn't play for Myerhoff over the last 2 years.:fight:
  22. From the sources i have come to a decision that Cov Cath's middle infield is relatively weak. Who knows, maybe they will experiment with Maile at 2nd or short. That may solve there problems.:jump::jump:
  23. No suprise hear. Although a long shot, i predict Conner to upset somebody in there district and make it to the region tournament.:sssh:
  24. From looking on BGP and the scoreboard it seems like Dixie Hieghts is 0-4 with 2 losses to Covington Catholic and 1 loss to Holy Cross. I do not understand how a losing team can recive votes for a top 25 poll in the state unless only playing 1 game or losing to all top 25 teams. I dont think they are even top 5 in the 9th region. Teams like Boone Co. and Highlands deserve more respect as both teams are better than Dixie IMO.
  25. I can't wait to see what AirJordan23 has to say about this. I expect him/her to say that the state polls dont matter now and that the real poll is the NKY poll lol.
