Did they post any of the other teams below 25 that received votes?

Sorry about that, i had a few problems copying and pasting the information. i couldnt get the # of votes to match up with the teams in the top 25 but here are the other teams that recieved votes. The one that stands out to me is seeing Dixie Hieghts with 6 votes. I dont see how they recieve more votes than Beechwood, Highlands, and Boone.

Others Receiving Votes — Daviess County 6, Dixie Heights 6, DuPont Manual 6, Grayson County 6, Hopkins County Central 5, Marion County 5, West Jessamine 5, Fern Creek 4, Greenup County 4, Warren East 4, Beechwood 3, Bullitt East 3, Mercer County 3, Murray 3, Calloway County 2, Central Hardin 2, Danville 2, Rockcastle County 2, Boone County 1, Campbell County 1, Estill County 1, Gallatin County 1, Marshall County 1, Nelson County 1, South Laurel 1

I think you are seeing some teams being rewarded for playing a difficult schedule.

I can't wait to see what AirJordan23 has to say about this. I expect him/her to say that the state polls dont matter now and that the real poll is the NKY poll lol.

Exactly haha. Just messing around. Beechwood did it to themselves when they lost to Bullit East and can't do anything but try to come back up in the next couple weeks.

I would imagine he will be none too pleased about Beechwood dropping so far - and to be honest, I am a bit surprised myself - but they just haven't played anyone of substance to date, and have the loss to unranked Bullitt East (who is now ranked right behind them).

Of course, I'm not exactly sure what vaulted Dixie up the charts. Playing tough opponents is important, but so is beating them. Have they beaten anyone so far?

See they moved Eastern up to 6, I actually think they are even better then that. Where did Beechwood go ???????

Well earned by Ryle. That tough schedule will pay off in the long run and now. But I know this will comeback at me but being ranked is nice but you still got to win the games. I'm sure Ryle will take care of matters though. Also what did Dixie do to earn votes.

My understanding the poll is very inaccurate. A lot of coaches don't vote, which skews the poll and also a buddy system is in place during voting.

I have heard coaches vote for another region team number 1 in the state and the other coach would return the favor. It is hard to give validity to this poll.

Baseball coaches have a harder time seeing opposing/out-in-state teams that almost anyone else. Basketball coaches can see many teams in holiday tournaments and BGP has certainly been a benefit, much as it has with football (along with TV coverage). That is all limited for baseball, making a poll almost impossible.

From looking on BGP and the scoreboard it seems like Dixie Hieghts is 0-4 with 2 losses to Covington Catholic and 1 loss to Holy Cross. I do not understand how a losing team can recive votes for a top 25 poll in the state unless only playing 1 game or losing to all top 25 teams. I dont think they are even top 5 in the 9th region. Teams like Boone Co. and Highlands deserve more respect as both teams are better than Dixie IMO.

Hopkinsville just beat Henderson County on the road and should be in the top 20 at least.

I am right there with you, makes no sense to see Henderson County rise in the polls after losing and polls not giving Hopkinsville any respect.:irked:

I bet there are many stories like this with these polls... like Ryle beating E Town and still being 7 positions behind them in the poll.
