Holmes VS. Largo, Md. on Fox 19 Saturday
Holmes boys' basketball coach David Henley hadn't planned on telling his players that their next game will be broadcast locally Fox19 (WXIX), mainly because he didn't know. http://nky.cincinnati.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/AB/20090122/SPT0302/901220396/

Massey Ratings Match Ups:
Pretty cool. Did Holmes vs. Oak Hill Academy, had Oak Hill winning 68-63.

I agree 100%. What's going to be very fun though, is watching the 9th & 10th region tournaments at NKU. Curious to know if anyones heard of the format yet?

I was at the game and seen no disrespect from any players on either Team. The elbow was an accident, but it was also a pretty bad one. I've had my share of elbows and there never fun, I'm sure JJ was seeing stars at the time. This Holmes Team has some very fine young men, they are well Coached, and very disiplined. This is pretty much the same group from last year, minus Henderson, Avery, and a couple others. They play hard and keep their cool. If anyone remembers the 2nd round of the Sweet Sixteen last year, you should of noticed that. As far as the game: FC played hard and seemed well Coached, just not on the same level as Holmes talent wise. Was very impressed with the Dogs half court game tonight on both ends. Almost five players in double figures is always good to see. Pittman got his, but R.Johnson is really playing well lately. Only 13 tonight, but I don't believe he missed many shots. When Riley wants to, I think he can take anyone off the dribble. My fourth game this year and I didn't realize he was that quick. The sophomore Arnold looked very good tonight, did he miss a shot?

Best Coach ?
Going through this thread, I was wondering when his name would come up. He would be my choice.

What a tragic situation for such a great young man. I wish him nothing but success in all he does.

I caught most of the 4th qt. on CCH internet radio. They do a pretty good job, but when they said Riley really wasn't that good of a PG, all that went out the window.

Holmes v Covington Catholic (1/14)
Actually yes, it matters. The fact that there's going to be people who can't see some of the games (seating) is a joke.

I am a Holmes alum, and I agree. Like I said, If Henley doesn't start going for the juggerler, it's going to cost them. Seems the Holmes players are getting a little bored with this Offense. There is such a thing as good half court O, but it's getting rediculous. These guys need to play a liitle more up tempo, thats their style.

Wife and I walked in at 7:00, there were 3:00 left in the 3rd period. Finally get her to go to one of these things and...:madman: Simple observation: I believe Coach H has got to start letting these guys play and stop being Mr. nice guy all the time. One of these times it's going to bite em in the backside.

Congrats to the Eagles. In my opinion, Brad Carr is a top 5 Coach in N.Ky.

3 in Kentucky cracks top 100
In tune how? We know there's really no way of knowing the true top 50/100. There is no national HS BB Tournament and we don't get to see all the Teams play. These are just fun to look at, and the Schools should be proud to be on any list like these. Everyone of these Teams number 1 goal is to win their State tournament and thats what matters most. But none of us can sit here and say that Holmes is better than MLK out of Riverside CA, or vise-versa just because thats what someone says. Again, it's a very nice thing for the Schools to look at, and a reward for working hard. Yeah, I'm sure ther is a few Teams like Oak Hill who are heads and shoulders above, but I'd say after the top 5 or 10 it's a crap shoot.

Holmes 37th, Scott Co. 67th and J-Town 86th. Not bad, not bad at all. Congrats to all three Schools.
