  1. Uconn keeps getting jipped imo, they are a top 10 team and are still undefeated and just beat a very talented but underacheiving Louisville team. I think they can go unbeaten in the big east personally. They are one of my top 3 teams to watch...jmo but I dont understand how thay remain off the polls. Michigan and USC are both to high. Sure Michigan is an a winning streak but they lost to Appalachian State and they are not a top 25 team imo. USC could not stay on the same field with some of the top teams in the SEC. Cincinnati isn't getting any love at all. They are as talented at every position as anyone in america. As for UK I think they are rated right where they should be as of now. If they win by a good margin against Miss. State and avoid the upset against Vandy they should be settin right around 5-9 when Georgia and Tennessee come up. I still feel LSU is the best team in the country after that amazing win over a Very good and underrated Auburn team.
  2. Looks pretty fair, Jumpman21, whats the 15th look like? Thanks.:thumb:
  3. 15th region can someone post the top players and teams. Or PM me, eighter one is fine with me. Thanks.
  4. I'm a 15th region guy but I'll go ahead and tell you I make the trip to lexington,Richmond,Gtown, where ever to see some of these teams and games within the 11th this season. This region is just crazy as far as the # of top teams within the region. Talent everywhere.
  5. Well yeah I know, Thats a little before my time though if were going WAY back you could throw them in there as well as some of the Maytown teams and maybe even the Wayland team from the late 50's with Kelly Coleman. I still think the best basketball teams from the 15th range from about 88' untill the time when that great Paintsville team graduated out...jmo
  6. I also heard Matt Thomas at Ashland had a nice summer, he's a great athlete.
  7. He's good, I personally believe he's better than Clark, better shooter, better team player, and dosen't seem to have a bad attitude although he's still young....jmo
  8. I think you have to throw Landon Slone-Paintsville in there, he played against the best comp. in the country and from what I understand was killing people all summer with DS-All Stars. He was already one of the top players in the state but he basically proved what he could do this summer against the big dogs. I believe he was the leading scorer on the squad, if not he was right at the top.
  9. Yeah Wayland is in the northern part of Floyd county I believe. Allen Central is made up of four schools....Maytown Wildcats,Wayland Wasp,Garrett Black Devils, and the Martin Purple Flash. All of which had rich basketball tradition as does Allen Central.
  10. Maybe so, I'd say two guards from Holmes were probabily top 2 and Lincoln had some great athletes as well as Scott so maybe that is a bit of an exageration.:thumb: BTW: Sorry about the spelling errors in my last post, I just read over it....lol:D
  11. I heard Landon Slone has attracted alot of attention from quiet a few DI schools.
  12. they will most definitly cause matchup problems, don't be supprised to see Ballou play for Minnisota for tubby when he graduates. Fudge was 1 of the top 4 or 5 athletes at rupp last year. As a team i'd probabilly rate them at #15 on a top 25 scale in the state.
  13. Put Henderson at #1 and I'd probabily put Grimes somewhere around 3-5 but besides that it looks good. Henderson is definitly #1 though.:thumb:
  14. JBS will be good but will not compete for a state title. If you throw them in there you have to add Shelby Valley and even Paintsville, two teams who will be better than JBS next year imo. But your list does look pretty good.
  15. G-Jermey Hall-Wisconsin(big 10 freshman of the year)...was injured the second half against Fairdale, the evential state champ in which they led with only a few minutes remaing. Thomas Jenkins-Morehead State, one of the top 15th region HS players all time. Jason Martin-Named All-State Tourney team, put up like 27pts one game Phillip Patton-was about 6'6 but had about a 7'1 wing span and could play with anyone inside. Could have played at alot of schools in college but things didn't work out for whatever reason. Steve Turner-Solid role player who was a starter Kevin Stumbo-The athlete and defender on that team came off the bench. Had a Scholarship offer from Campbellsville I believe but didn't qualify academically or what ever. Beau Tackett-I believe he was on the team, and he was one of the better guard in the region before he graduated. Another great athlete who also played football. Ronnie Sammons Thats about all I can think of right now, I don't think Matt Baker came over until the next season from Shelby Valley.
  16. 1.Desmond Johnson-Cumberland 2.Josh Crawford-Corbin 3.Dustin Day-Pineville 4.James Strange-Pineville 5.Brock Leisge-Cumberland BTW I'm not a 13th region guy but this is my top 5 just from what i've seen.
  17. I respect your opinion on this and some may agree but there is no way imo that that team was a good as the Paintsville state championship team from 96', the 98 Paintsville team or even the 94' Allen Central team who w/out a couple bad breaks and injuries could have eaisly won state. I would however rate those Virgie teams as some of the best ever in the 15th as I posted previously.
  18. 4.1982 Virgie 5.1981 Virgie Just to round out my top 5, as BANKSHOT previously mentioned.:thumb:
  19. Top 3: 1.1996-Paintsville 2.1998-Paintsville 3.1994-Allen Central
  20. Looks alright but I'd have to put Jermey Hall in the starting lineup, probabily top 3 or 4, he was the big 10 freshman of the year at Wisconsin. It may just be me but I never thought Conley was all that great, I mean he was better than average but he was out of shape, shot his arm off and played very little "D". I just don't think he belongs on the all time team. Rudy Thacker and the Talent boys at Maytown High has to be mentioned and some people may disagree but I'd put Graig Ratliff from Paintsville in there he would make anyteam better he was is a versitile 6'9-6'10 who had DI talent.
  21. Yeah Boo has to be on the list, he's arguably 1st team imo.
  22. Regulators-Nate Dogg & Warren G Crossroads-Bone Thugs & Harmony Unconditional Love-2Pac
  23. Smith from Breathitt Co. will be far and away the best player in that district.
  24. Yeah your right, he had a heck of a career at King College. I guess in HS, although he did put up great stats, he was looked upon as more of a project with alot of potential. At the college level he worked hard and lived up to that potential for the most part. King is a pretty highly respected NAIA program but out of HS he had some DI offers. I think he had an offer to play at Army as well as some other mid-majors. He was just a naturally big strong kid. He was a very intelligiant kid as well.
