Vanhoose is twice the player this year compared to last year. Every apect of his game has improved. Quickness, Speed, Jumping, Defense, and if you can believe this, his shooting.

Rayburn hit 3 three in the fourth period, including 2 in the final minute that kinda close the gap. Elliott was up around 12 and West scored on thier final 4 possesions. Ethan Faulkner led Elliott County with 18 points, 7 reb, 5 assist, and 4 steals. Evan Faulkner added 16 points and 3 steals. Tyler Maynard comes off the bench to add 12 points. Jonathon Ferguson got 10 points, 6 reb, and 4 assist. Ferguson also recorded 2 steals.

Lewis Co. climbing up the polls as it gets closer to tournament time. Not a better coach in the game at this point in the season than Joe Hampton.

I agree hoot. This kid has as much potential as any kid in the state.

Elliott County travels to Olive Hill on Monday night to play district oppoent West Carter. Any predictions?

I have to disagree on the comment about their bench. Elliott Co.'s bench has been a very piviotal part of the success. They use a solid 8-9 man rotation and has 2 players that come off the bench that can change the whole complection of the game. Tyler Maynard averages 9 ppg and Timmy Knipp is also around 7-9 ppg. Timmy Knipp might be the best shot blocker in the region.

They also return their two best players that come off the bench.

Good point Bandit. Ferguson and Maynard were both hot from three land!

Elliott showed signs of rust after a 8 day lay off. Jonathon Ferguson led Elliott in scoring with 25 points including 5 three pointers. He also had 8 rebounds. Ethan Faulkner scored 19 points and 10 rebounds. Tyler Maynard comes off the bench to score 13 points and Evan Faulkner chips in with 10 points.

How about Magnuson(I think this was his name?) that played for Rose Hill back in the Mayo, Dawson days. He reminds me a lot of Bruce Senior who plays with OJ now.

Rose Hill should win this game.

What other team besides Rose Hill did Coach Hall take to the big dance?

Last Monday the Cantrall rankings in the Lex. paper had Elliott County 20th in the state. After being beat by Paintsville, they have dropped to 24th this Monday.

Am I missing something here or does this say there are 4 players from Bardstown on the ATT, and they lost yet Brossart won the tournament and has 2 people on the list and the MVP. That doesnt make any sense at all to me. :creepy:

What does last year have to do with this year Ms. Liberty? It seems like everytime there is an Elliott County thread on this site, it turns in to a Tyler Maynard thread. He is a big key to Elliott County's success so far this season but everyone acts like he is just sitting on the bench watching. Granted he didnt have his best shooting game aganist Paintsville and probabley didnt get all the minutes that he wanted and maybe deserved, but without him Elliott County maybe wouldnt have gotten to the Class "A" state tournament and probabley would be 14-5 right now. By the sound of what I have read so far this season, Maynard has an unreal amount of pressure on him to perform at a high level. He is going to have bad games just like everyone eles of Elliott County's team does, and just like everybody eles that plays basketball. Sometimes he, also like everyone eles that plays basketball, isnt going to get the minutes that they think they should, and like I said earlier that they might deserve, but what goes through Coach Mays' mind only he knows and what he is doing is what he thinks is going to put the team in the best postition. Is that always the right desicion? No, of course not. But I promise he isnt try to lose games, and he isnt trying to upset his players. This was a good game for Elliott County IMO and I think they can learn from this loss. They have the most important part of the season still in front of them. Stick together guys, you are playing great basketball and you have as good as shot as anyone to get to the state tournament. :thumb:

I watched Bardstown play Thursday night aganist Shawnee, and they must have played thier worst game of the year. I must say I am suprised to see them in the championship.

A game like this is exaclty what Greenup needed.
