The other thread about current players who are tough got some good responses so I thought I'd see who people think the toughest of all time might be. REMEMBER - I'm not looking for points or frills - I want the kids who get every loose ball, dive on the floor, take charges, would run through a wall to win a ball game, etc. Here are a couple of my favorites:

 

Blake Downing - PRP

AW Hamilton - Scott Co.

AW was a player, plenty of talent on those Cards squads, but he was very solid on both ends of the floor. Billy Dennis from the '95 SK team was a hard nosed player, as well as Chris Baldwin and Phil Schaumbach, they didn't lead the team in scoring or rebounding but they were the glue every good team needs to make them better.

Tyler Hicks -- Scott Co.

Arlis Beach -- Ashland

Matt Spencer -- Elliott Co.

Steve Trivette--Rowan County

Andy Lewis--Morgan County

Juan Thomas--Ashland

James Lee, Louisville Male...'70-'72?

So you cant list someone who scored a lot of point's and got every loose ball dove on the floor and took lot's of charge's and actually ran their head through the locked wooden storage door's underthe stage after the ball!!!

I'm sure not too many will remember Steve Day from Russell but he was one "Bad Animal". He played in the mid 80's.

Mark Elswick & Joey Wells from Boyd County, they were mean, and great rebounders.

I'll agree on Tyler Hicks from Scott County. Saw him play numerous times, very heady player.

Jarrod Litzinger. Always gave up several inches matching up against opposing centers. Played while recuperating from mononucleosis.

 

Also saw Preston Knowles carry his team earlier this year with assorted injuries.

Greg Ponzer Simon Kentons 1981 State Championship team. Great team with every player having a role. His role was to get after it.

Old Shooter was probably talking about his older Brother

The Stevens kid, John Stacy, Lewis and Brent Burke were tough at Boyd County. Wes Crawford was VERY tough as well.
