Am I missing something here or does this say there are 4 players from Bardstown on the ATT, and they lost yet Brossart won the tournament and has 2 people on the list and the MVP. That doesnt make any sense at all to me. :creepy:

Yeah, exactly what we were thinking. Niemeyer has over 50-points over four games, lots of rebounds and played good Defense and does not make the All Tournament Team??? Would of thought Brossart would have had four and Bardstown three. Even if they did vote at half-time, Brossart was up at seven.

Is JD Vanhoose kin to JR Vanhoose from Paintsville. He was one heck of a player.

I think he knows he was deserving. He got a better 2 trophies better than that. Game MVP and state champ. He was outstanding for the Stangs today.

Niemeyer got my vote. I did vote Troy Cooper tourney MVP tho. Nothing against Uebel because he played a heck of a tournament, but thought that Cooper was the bigger piece of the puzzle for Brossart. He played huge for the Mustangs.

Nominations went in at halftime of the championship game.

Why not have each team in the finals nominate 4 and the team wins get the 4 and the losing team just drops one and ends up with 3? I think we all agree that Neimeyer should have been on the All Tourney team!!:thumb:

:thumb: Makes no sense at all that Bardstown would have 4 and Brossart 3. I'm sure Niemeyer could care less but he was well deserving. No one thought they could win it without Munch but Niemeyer stepped up and did a great job. Congratulations to Jimmy Uebel on the MVP. Great tournament and great leadership. Cooper and Kidney solid as usual. Great crowd from the Brossart side. Very well represented!

You are exactly right!

Those of us in the know, knew the storyline as to Niemeyer's being the "stand-in" for Nathan Mutsch and therefore totally exceeded all expectations, shed the "stand-in" label and over-achieved (or achieved as he has shown he is capable) when the chips were down in the "A" State tournament.

He was certainly most deserving of being on the all-tournament team. My fear is that those voting were not aware of the immense impact that Bryan had on our winning this tournament. We simply could not have done it without him.

Cooper, Kidney, and Uebel are household names associated with our program - and who is to say that they didn't belong on the All-Tournament team? To vote for Niemeyer would have required some research. Since the ballots went in at halftime, few knew that Niemeyer would put up twelve points in the second half of the championship game and finish with 22 and a boatload of rebounds, blocks, and deflections.

The National Guard recognized it and named Bryan the Player of the Game, as well they should have.

Bryan Niemeyer can live the rest of his life with the knowledge that when opportunity knocked he kicked the door down and performed like the "battleship" that he is capable of being, and helped carry his team to the "A" State title.

He doesn't need an All-Tournament trophy to tell him that.
