  1. Orton knows Cousins will be a one and done, hed be in a 3 man rotation with Cousins and Patterson for one year and then he's in the spotlight. Someone should let him know there's going to be competition wherever he goes.
  2. It seems Orton doesnt want any competition....With Pilgrim, we'll be fine imo.
  3. They are both coming back, especially if we get all these recruits to follow Cousins. It was in their best interest to test the waters so they can get a fair asessment on what they need to work on to excel at the next level not from people on here but instead real NBA Scouts. Just like Micah and Trevard did last year in football. We have nothing to worry about as UK fans. Meeks and Patterson will be playing in Rupp for another year! 90% Positive!:thumb:
  4. The Colonels and Kings got every stud player in NKY. Bluegrass always got second pickens' imo. Now that the Kings are no longer, the talent level of the Bluegrass organization will steadily increase.
  5. The deadline to withdraw is June 16th. I do think that Meeks will return especially if he sees Cousins and Wall come to UK. Its just really going to test UK fans patience because we wont know for sure for about 2 months if Meeks is coming back or not. I hope he does whas best for him, and I think Calipari will help him make the best decision with Jodie's best interest at heart.
  6. So who are Calipari's assistents and how soon will he hire them? Does this weigh into all of the recruits decisions? Just a thought but do you think we could outbid Memphis for Carl Henry as Director of Basketball Operations???:sssh::ylsuper:
  7. What I meant by this was the attendance for a CovCath baseball game vs. a team like Silver Grove (a.k.a. Bellevue/Cooper) would not have more people attending then if Highlands were playing Bellevue/Cooper.
  8. If you would have really read my post carefully I said that CovCath plays Bellevue later in the year. A small school team which you claim the size of school CovCath doesnt play this year. I have conducted plenty of research on both topics and stand by decision that Highlands does not look at games vs. Silver Grove, Bellevue, and Calvary Christian big wins. As well as I personally don't think Jones is a top 25 D1 player but I wish him nothing but the best. Thats just my evaluation of his talent. And regarding to your comment about Highlands' attendence at games, how many fans do you expect to see at a High School baseball game in general let alone a game vs. schools like Bellevue, Silver Grove, or Calvary?
  9. How about Scott Hundley? He played college ball at Vandy and coaches as an associate at Montgomery County and has been there for a while. He was Mr.Basketball at Scott County and knows his basketball. If Highlands called I think he would be interested...
  10. Amen to this...lets postone this thread till after the signing period then it'll be huge lol...
  11. I wouldn't say great...its an ok organization imo.
  12. If he comes there goes my whole size explanation on how Highlands could beat them.:ohbrother: IMO if he comes, its two in a row for the Bulldogs. No one in the state would come close to beating this team.
  13. This is the best high school team to EVER come out of the 9th region. With that being said, they can still have a mental lapse here and there and next year the only team who can beat Holmes if they were to not bring it in a game would be Highlands. They have 5 starters returning and can match Holmes's size with Grubbs (6'5") Stewart (6'5") Watson and Dill (both about 6'3"-6'4") and Towles is growing like a weed and he's about 6'4" now. If they can slow the game down and get Ricardo and Elijah in foul trouble, beating Holmes wouldnt be a longshot.
  14. Yeah we definitely would be very young. It also seems like were counting on a lot of freshman to be big contributers next year. Hopefully they'll step up and help take us to Indianapolis!
  15. This team will have great success next year propelling them to an elite recruiting class in 10' imo. So imo the following year is something we shouldn't bring up especially since we don't know what kind of class Calipari is going to bring in 10' or for that matter this year! If he can bring one in like he did at Memphis this year then we're back to the old days of the late 90's imo. But only time will tell. I'm just pumped about the possibilities!:ylsuper:
  16. If we wants to play here so bad, maybe Calipari could persuade him to stay and walk on...I did hear he can shoot the 3 and maybe could be a Ravi Moss/Cameron Mills type player down the road.
  17. IMO after hearing Calipari talk on Sunday with Andy Katz, it seemed as if he would heavily recruit Cousins and Wall to UK and maybe even Dennis if he chooses to back out of his LOI. Also after hearing his stance on current players, I think the roster is due for a major shake up going into next year looking something like this. FR Cousins C JR Patterson PF SO Miller SF SR Meeks SG FR Wall PG Bench FR Orton C (I think Calipari tells Orton that Cousins is a one and done...) SR Harris SF (will be a great role player off the bench and will surprise some people) SR Stevenson PF/SF (will vastly improve over the off-season imo) FR Dennis SG (I think the diamond in the rough if we can get him) SO Liggins/ PG/SG Galloway PG/SG/SF (Only one will stay imo) JR Stewart SF (playing in Calipari's system will do wonders for him) FR Hood SG (loves UK and wont ever leave) JR Pilgrim PF (Solid big man off the bench) Giving them 13 scholarship players which is the limit... Walk-Ons SR Krebs SG (not going to cut a senior/KY boy) SO Slone SG/SF (unless he leaves for more PT somewhere else) SR Perry PG (vocal leader of the team I am told)
  18. I hope all of this does happen for the kid because I'd like nothing more than to see someone from the 9th excel in college ball... I just havent seen him against top pitching...Ill go watch him this summer...I know he plays for Midland which will definitely help in his recruiting since during the school year it is tough for him to recieve such exposure at a small school in Bellevue. Is he a senior/junior? Because if he is a senior most of the major D1 schools have already given out their major scholarships. If he's a junior I'll stick my foot in my mouth! :thumb:
  19. Not a chance...they'll choke again just like last year...The pennent winner out of the NL is going to be......wait for it..... The Cincinnati Reds!!! Only kidding (we can dream right???) The Mets are going to take it I think...
  20. Are you serious? I do love the Reds and love the Central but there are at least 3 divisions better then this one. The AL East is stacked with the Yankees, Red Sox, and Rays. Then there is the NL East with the 08' World Series Champs in the Phillies, the new look Mets, and the improving Braves as well as the Nationals did a lot in the offseason to improve. I could also make an argument for the AL Central and the NL West with the Diamondbacks and Dodgers. I do think the NL Central will be much improved this year and very well could produce the Wild Card. Only time will tell... GO REDS!
  21. Yes! They would have ran with this one, but no Obama said it so its only a bad choice of words and move on. I can only imagine what the Kentucky media would have done to Bunning had he said something like this. Im not saying what he said should be ripped apart but if your going to do it to the conservative side you have to as critical to the Liberals too!
  22. He is the type of person who tells you how it is and won't change for anyone. I think if all our politicians were as straight forward and as black and white as him we'd be a lot better off. Yes there are some negatives that come with this but the positives definitely outweigh them. He is a very strong and passionate conservative who is just brutally honest. He'll get my vote in 10'.
  23. I say we go at these 3 former players in order of 1 being the best option, Walter McCarty, Jamal Mashburn, or Rex Champman. I know it'd be hard to take any of these three from their current jobs. With Walter being at Louisville, Jamal being on ESPN, or Rex who's with the Nuggets. I think having these guys sell the UK program and even how each had successful careers in the NBA would be a huge help.
  24. I can do that, but could you please tell me what makes him a top 25 D1 player? I know pedigree means a lot but you definitely need more than that to go to a top D1 school. Mr. Jones is a great kid, and I wish him nothing but I just dont agree with your evaluation of his talent. With all that said...Ill agree to disagree:thumb:
