Big Game Player

Practice makes perfect, but then again ,enough is enough. If someone plays all year round and is paid in full by obtaining his goal then its worth it. Very seldom do I hear of a player just playing every now and again and reaching his/her goals in the winning column. I believe that for some players/teams it is a year around sport because it takes that long to catch up to then it becomes a must to compete, esp. at small schools where the talent is few and far in between.

Ohh yeah and by the way......I dont care what anyone says OJ Mayo will be tough next year and the next from start to finish whereever them years may take him. Too athletic, too quick, too confident and too good.

Patterson and Lucas didnt impress me but I like the way they move. They seemed to be able to have looks at the basket by positioning themselfs and would of scored if anyone would of passed it to them at the right time. Yeah I know its an allstar game but they seem to be (Kentucky players/any coach e will be happy to get )players that get their stats through an organized offense/defense instead of a just a free for all all-star game like atmosphere.

I'm lost....... I'm behind on the entire thing that happened....Knowing Hicks in the past.....Can anyone that knows what happened private messeeage me and tell me whats going on ?:confused: :confused:

IMO i would put them as a contender but no where near a favorite. Anyone of them could possibly beat a good high school team and pull off an upset but as winning the entire sweet 16 I wouldnt go that far eventhough I wouldnt count them out if a good draw was to happen. The only bad thing about hoping for a good draw is when it gets down to the sweet 16 any team can play or they wouldnt be there, every team comes in as a winner but only one can leave as one.

Maybe if he just comes and stay a couple of weeks here and there then maybe we can get out of region in the near future. SO how much can we rent you for a couple weeks ????

June B's ballhandling will help them in this one. I dont know about pulling the upset but June B's has really come together as a team of lately and seem to be hitting shots underpressure. If this game gets in a run-and-gun game then June B is in trouble because Warren's athleticism will cause them a problem in rebounding and making plays early and often. If the pressure doesn't wear down June B and they dont turn the ball over countless times then June B may have a chance in the end........and all anyone can ask for is a chance. Clark and Tate both have to have a good game and Clint can hit a few from deep and Collins is able to crash the boards hard for some put back(almost like bonus points) then this could an instant classic. (Because we all know they are the primary shooter/scorers on the teams and they do get their shots one way or another.)

7 out of 17 teams, 41% of the teams in the region.........y is this number so high? Anyone know anyone possibly filling these jobs?

Congrats to the Cards for a big win after traveling on a rough road. This should prepare them for th state, just hope it doesnt wear them down.

Congrats to both teams for a successful season. These teams also met in the finals of the All A I believe ,eventhough there was a turnaound in the result. The biggest turnaround to me was that June B started playing team ball and used their potential. Everyone knows they had the most potential in the region just never used it until now. Congrats to Hicks and goodluck in the future. I believe June B will do well against Warren which is very athletic, but June B has the guards to handle their pressure that always seems to be the key to success for Warren in the past couple years.

IMO, Congelton from Owsley has a spot, #15 from Knott. Clark and Cox for June B. both had good games.

:thumb: :thumb: I heard that Air Force is interested in Hicks but how interested is the question?? I agree, Hicks may be able to play at a small D1, i could see him at a EKY possibly but thats pushing it. His shooting capability really opens his options because he can handle it and pull up off the dribble and that is what EKY is known for, the 3 ball.

Knott won.................

Turnover kiled the Owls early. Knott led 16 at halfi believe and Owsley had no less than 8 turnovers that led to layups. Good Defense pressure on the press really took the Owls out of their game. I believe I heard buddy say that Owlsey ended up with 20 turnover and Knott scored 30+ points just off turnovers. Congrats to Knott for advancing. Goodluck to Trey at the collegiate level and the Owls this summer gettin ready for next season.

1Hicks, lmakes everyone around him better and dont forget his shooting 2Romans, has been a leader of 12 seniors and kept scored baskets when need 3Stepp, has potential to be a good player by handling ball with his size and quickness just doesnt make anyone else better. 4Gay, leads his team and has the experience to come up big with hs size and shooting capability. 5Campbell, the 2nd hand man to Hicks, any outside shooter needs someone cleaning up for him on a off night. 6Hollon, always seem to give Breathitt the spark they need at the beginning of the game to keep them rolling. 7Smith, best actual big man in the region, with Hollon's outside shooting this open the middle up so he can go to work. 8Cox, has the team to do great things just no team chemistry or organization to get him the ball in a situation to score, makes Cox force some unadvised shots. 9Stamper, only seen him play once but very athletic and runs the floor with or without the ball very well, also a great passer. 10. Blank, next best shooter to Hicks, havent seen him under a lot of pressure but sure can burn the nets.

I heard from an observer that the game was hard fought and well matched the entire night. Heard some players stepped up for Leslie and Mosley for Knott had a big game. Final 58Leslie 52Knott

Not to say anything negative about McIntosh because he is the most consistant scorer because he plays his original position. Congelton seems to be the leader on the team by leading by example eventhough he has been asked to adjust to the outside game when usally he'd be a foward or a center at Owsley. Seemed Congelton really pulled the team together emoitionaly and physically in tournament play.
