  1. :thumb: Look for the Notre Dame Pandas to regain their title as best N.Ky. team. Should be interesting with the new coach. The coach has gained much respect with the players already. Coach Ha is also joined by two well respected young women as his Varsity assistant and J.V. coach (Bobbie Casey and Maydie Wilcox). Good luck Pandas!!
  2. I know CruFan4233is obviously a St. Henry fan and that is fine, but Mr. Rolf was fraternizing with the St. Henry coaches and players quite a bit during that game. It just doesn't look good from the other side of the field. I know it looks okay from your side.
  3. Yes, I do think he was consistent both ways in the CCH/Holy Cross game, but the St. Henry game was a different story. I think the ump has too many ties to St. Henry to call a fair game. I think next time he should gracefully decline to call a St. Henry game. He is just to close to the St. Henry sources.
  4. Stephens and Ryan threw a lot of pitches b/c the home plate umpire had a strike zone the size of a cracker box. He had the same zone in the CCH vs. St. Henry game. He doesn't seem to realize there's corners on those plates....inside and outside.
  5. Houlehan started, Isler relieved, and Stephens closed in the 7th.
  6. The game is at CovCath. Houlehan is 5-0.
  7. Old Guy......it was nice of you to apologize. Looks like CovCath isn't the only one that makes errors
  8. Not the first time and I'm sure not the last that Old Guy sees things in a different light. I spoke with the pitcher's dad after the game and he even admitted the throw was Mike's error. There's not one person to point a finger at in this game on errors. It was definitely a team effort. I think the only player in the game without an error was Blazejewski in right. But, did you hear the Ryle coaches coaching non-stop to their players? Maybe Krumps needs to stop chewing you know whats and start coaching these fine young men. Kudos to the Ryle coaches. I do think CovCath gave away most of that game, but Ryle's defense was well executed.
  9. I agree with you IronLung. You can't take anything away from Ryan Busse. He pitched a great game today and his team made the plays to back him up.
  10. Old Guy....please go watch another N.KY. team.....you depress me.
  11. From what I hear his parents are saying 4 weeks after surgery he may be able to return. His surgery is scheduled for this upcoming Wednesday.
  12. I don't think anyone is making excuses here. The game was almost a week ago and this is the first time player absences were mentioned. Tim was missed in the outfield during those two games, but Cov Cath has enough bench talent that they should be able to pull together a win. It was just an off day for Cov Cath to have to play a double header. No excuses, just facts. CCH will have to finish most of the season without Josh Bleser. His pitching and hitting will definitely be missed, but I think the Ole Colonels will pluck a few players from the farm teams and those players will step up to the plate and get the job done.....no doubt.
  13. Josh Bleser sat out too because he was having an MRI done.
  14. Covington Catholic's is is kept up to date http://www.covcath.org/?page=baseball Check it out.:thumb:
  15. :thumb: Very impressed with CovCath's pitching so far (Stephens, Bleser, Houlehan, & Curtin). CovCath also has lots of speed on the team.
  16. Cov Cath played Ryle at 1:00 today and the Colonels came out on top 3-2. St. Henry is playing Boone County and winning 9-1 in the bottom of the 3rd. Cov Cath plays Boone at 5:00 at Cov Cath. I heard the CCH JV are playing at Boone County tonight at 5:00.
  17. Wow OldGuy....I'm sure the CCH pitcher and shortstop will like the vote of confidence they got from you tonight. Sure hope they don't read this thread. Do the Colonels a favor....if you don't like what you saw today, go watch some other high school teams play and leave CCH alone.
  18. Look for the anual Senior Banners tonite as well. There will be a senior banner for each player who id being honored tonite.
  19. If you're talking about best athletes all around......two that would definitely have to be included if not at the top of the list is Brett Sutton and Todd Jacobs. You won't like hearing this, but the academic work load at Cov. Cath. does not enable a lot of these boys to play multiple sports. Plus, that is why we our kids go to high school right? For the education? Oh yeah.....I know some of you think it's all about sports. I saw Corey Farris play this summer....he would not be playing varsity at CCH as a freshman or a sophmore. Get real......
  20. I would add Schreiver (CCH) to the list. He (along with Best of Scott and another player from Ryle) represented N.Ky. in the Ky. High School Junior All-Star game last summer. All 3 are very nice players.
  21. I thought their reply was "We've got Jesus"......
  22. I have to agree with Benihanas on the ref crew. It seemed at the beginning of the game the only ref that could blow the whistle was the tall blonde. The ref handing out double techs needs to lighten up or toughen up. He seems to lack the confidence of a high school official. The third ref was actually arguing with a female Holmes fan during play. Come on....for all those out there that ref any type of high school sport, you have to have broader shoulders than that. You have to get out there and get your job done and ignore the comments coming from the fans.
  23. No need to compare Brett and Todd. They are both great players, but even more important they are great kids on and off the court. It is a shame that Brett couldn't work out his differences with Coach L. He would have been a great assest to the Colonels, but he isn't the first player to be in this situation. Brett has a true passion for football and it's tough to give Coach L 100% when you're involved in other sports. Kurt Bovard is managing right now to juggle football and basketball, but it did take him a while to work himself into the starting lineup. Kurt belongs in the starting 5. :thumb:
