Just got home from the game. Another classic game in this series. First 5 minutes was about even then all Holmes for the rest of the half up 14 or so at the half. CovCath came out swinging with a 7-0 run to start the 2nd and it seemed like both teams struggled to score and every time CCH got a basket, the Bulldogs would answer right back. The ending was very disappointing because of a lame pass... but there's always March. Hats off to both teams on a good game.

Danny Noll turned his game up a notch in the second half. He needs to bring that same level of intensity to every game to give CovCath another dimension.

Well at the end of the game the awards went out to Danny Noll and Arnez(spelling) Henderson. But in my eyes with out Todd in the first half CCH wasnt even in the game the second. Also Greg Rice might be one of the best players i have seen play he can do it on all parts of the floor. He needs to get recognized more.

Rice is solid - not great. Quick moves in the low post. Decent turnaround J from about 8 feet. Doesn't look comfortable with the ball away from the basket.

I would suggest both teams tighten up the FT shooting or they will get bounced earlier than they planned. I heard Holmes was 8 for 18. CCH was not much better - probably worse.

A. Good call, Roundballer. Noll took advantage of Holmes being soft inside and helped bring CCH back.

Very good game but I expected it to be a little more high scoring. Can't wait for the Highlands/Holmes game. That being said, I AM NOT making excuses, they did not lose this game, the better team won the game but the 9th region refs, to me, just don't seem to appreciate CCH. I saw a few bad or missed calls tonight and I believe that this is the same ref crew that did the CCH/Highlands and I saw a few of the same types of calls tonight. Missed charges, charges that were blocks and vice versa, they didn't have any bad traveling calls they just missed a few. And yes, they had maybe 1 or 2 bad calls for CCH but it just seems like to me that they are missing the big calls and calling the little stupid things that no one cares about like pushes and stuff. Anyways, kudos to both teams. Can't wait till regionals.

The Double T was a bad call. Cahill didn't do anything to deserve a T, the kid is most mild-mannered kid on the team. I believe it was the same ref who called the Double T in the HHS/CCH game, when Michael Young simply stood up and was in Ben G's face. Regardless, I can only imagine what Holmes is like on a night where Duran can see out of both eyes and Edmonson is hitting his three's! Can't wait for districts and regionals!

I would venture to say that CovCath had something to do with getting with 1 point after a 14 point deficit, not all Coach Henley. Holmes is not untouchable.

There were quite a few outstanding individual plays by various contributers throughout the game. Edmondson hit some nice shots, Tierney made some incredible moves including a strong layup and 1 in the fourth, Avery gave some nice minutes while Jefferson was being tended to.

 

Henderson reminds me of "The Helicopter" from UC a few years back. What was his name? Arrez has hops.
