When CovCath got the ball back and called a time out in the last 12 seconds or so, the Colonel Section chanted "God's on our side"... Holmes responded with "We've got defense". That was a good comeback.

Combined 12 for 30 from the FT line. I think Holmes was 8/18 and CCH was 4/12. Ouch.

 

Holmes shot 27% in the 2nd half.

 

Jacobs, Noll, Tierney combines for 47 of the 51 points.

This game should have never been close. Holmes with a 14 point lead at half time and they played a slow down game in the second half and all most lost the game. Henley needs to turn his kids lose in a full court game and then no one in the 9th Region would touch Holmes.

Once TJ cooled off (something to do with the Hill to Henderson switch), and Duran re-entered the game, you could make an argument that the three best players in the game were on Holmes. DJ, Arrez, and Austin Hill are outstanding high school players. Rice, as was mentioned, is a nice h.s. player, but a level below the other 3 in my opinion.

If people only knew as much as you.

 

When it comes to basketball I do know a lot more then most people.

IMO Noll had the best game between both teams. I think Edmonson added 1 three pt shot. Jacobs played well i think he had the first 9 points. Had he squared up better he might have knocked a couple more shots down it seemed as if he was rushing everything. I question hendersons outside game as well. he didnt even dribble outside last night.

That was a question I had on Holmes to going into the season. I've watched them play 4 times this season. Edmonson,Hill, and Rice are all good shooters. With Henderson in average shooter right now. NKYBOY and myself have both stated if Henderson is able to get a 3point shot this off season he will be one of the best this regions seen.

Here's the issue for those of that hear he's a D1 candidate but don't get to see him. He scored from 8 feet in. He didnt look comfortable outside of that area and his shots were not close. He's very quick on the block but at 6'3 he has to show some outside game and handle.

 

HSSRB was correct that last night the 3 best offensive players for the Dogs were 1. Hill 2. Henderson (offensive boards) and 3. Jefferson (passing - not scoring).

I agree. But how many times have you watched Jefferson play this year? In the 5/3 classic alot of Rice's shots were come a couple feet in from the 3pt line, around 15 feet. People were criticizing him then for taking the deep shots.

 

Hill is probably the best all around, and is very underrated when it comes to his outside shot.

Problem with Edmonson I think is confidence. When everyone is there he knows he is the 5th option. The one game he was the man he drops 30+.
