Bottom line is 2-8 probably anyone can be beaten by anyone on any given night. In my mind the only way Holmes loses in region is if they hurt themselves some how.

Maybe. However, I'll be shocked if going into Districts we don't see CCH having two in-region losses (Holmes and HHS), Highlands having 0 or 1 in-region loss (Holmes), and Holmes having 0 or 1 in-region loss (Highlands). So could they lose on any given night, sure. They haven't thus far, and IMHO, they won't.

Problem with Edmonson I think is confidence. When everyone is there he knows he is the 5th option. The one game he was the man he drops 30+.

 

Trust me. That kid exudes confidence. Its not that. He makes it too easy to shut him down. How the Camels let him get off 9 3s is inexcusable.

How quickly everyone forgets the state game last year... If you remember, when they started to skid against the big boys at Rupp was when their "good high school basketball player" fouled out... Hill Edmondson Henderson and Jefferson were all on the court and they couldn't score. Rice played big in the big time, he is better than a "good high school basketball player"... He does what is asked of him for his team... I don't think they exactly need another outside shooter...

 

You are correct that he plays his role. My point is that some on here have projected the young man to be a D1 player. I didn't see that and have not seen it yet.

 

I'll add 'very' to 'good high school player'. He is not 'great'.

Duran Jefferson and Henderson if he gets a deeper shot will both be playing at either mid major DI or good D2 programs.

 

IMO Duran would be a perfect fit in the GLVC.

Holmes is #1 and I'm not arguing with that but......

 

Holmes beats CCH by 3. Highlands beats CCH by 2. Those are all very close games and I think that 3 three teams are pretty evenly matched right now. That could change by the time of the tourny.

Is it possible that we have overhyped how good Holmes, CCH, and Highlands really are? Could Dixie, NCC, HC, Beechwood be right there with them?

 

I guess my piont is in this thread and the previous one is that there are still alot of questions to be answered and that this region is still up for grabs. Its probably going to the top 3, but not definetly. Upsets do occur in the regional. (CCH vs. Conner)

Jefferson could probably run PG on the GLVC right now.

In the past three weeks CCH has improved more than anyone else in the region IMO. And once CCH can figure out some kind of consistent rotation would win vs. Homes 3 or 4 times out of 10 times in my opinion. Hopefully they can figure that out with a little change in the starting line up tommorow night vs. LexCath.

Was Holmes's late 2nd quarter run to go up 14 with or without Duran? Also I think CovCath did their best job coming out of locker room at halftime this season, something that I believe they have struggled with all year.

I completely respect your opinion, however, you are hard pressed to convince me he is better than their 4th best starter.

 

My opinion:

 

Best college prospect -- Austin Hill. A man.

Best player at this level (and at their position) -- Duran Jefferson.

Best athlete / game-changer -- Arrez Henderson.

 

I agree with all those but when Rice's 15 footer is on (unlike last night) he is too much for anyone to stop around NKY.

I don't recall any obvious misses. TJ's foul was a block. What did you see?

 

 

On one of Holmes' possessions, I believe it was Hill, hammered TJ on the inside and I know for a fact that it was a charge because TJ had been standing with his feet set for about a second and the refs didn't call anything.

Agreed. The Holmes/Highlands game should put an end to this number 2 and 3 mess. Now let's just say IF Holmes beats Highlands by about 15 points. Would that put CCH at number 2 because Cov Cath played Holmes so tight or would they still be tied or would HHS still be second and CCH third?

I'll agree here... to be D1 he does need to extend his range a little and grow about an inch or three...
