"Back in the Day".....at HHS there was a program for intramural hoops for the kids that didn't make/choose the school team. It played on Saturday mornings and was refereed by the varsity/JV hoop players. The "championship" was played at a school assembly and I thought it was pretty cool. Some kids like to play and don't necessarily have access to money leagues/teams playing at offsite facilities.

I would love to see this instituted at all high schools. There is a huge group of kids who would like to play organized ball and love the game and are not on the school team for whatever reason. It would keep these kids active physically and, in many cases, out of trouble while doing a worthwhile activity.

At pendleton county we have high school Intramurals teams. They have 5 teams and they play on saturday mornings. Coach Buddy Biggs and Coach Chad Simms are occational refs. Its a good program and i'd say they have about 50 kids that play.

CCH has a huge intramural program. I'd guess there are 5 teams per grade with about 7 or 8 boys on each team. I think at the end of the season, the FROSH champs play the SOPH champs and the JR champs play the SR champs.

Its well organized.

Also, if you let me pick an all-star intramural team, I'd compete well against many high school teams.

Agreed. There have been years in the past where you could find 5 kids involved in intramurals who could have beat CCH's starting 5. Kids quit after their freshman year for one reason or another.

That is true.. i know of many kids taht were a big part of either there 8th grade team or even there freshman or JV team who just dont feel like practicing which makes the Intramural Basketball Leauge or IBL at CCH very competitive.

And also Brett Sutton could quite possibly be the best basketball player at CovCath right now!

Then why isnt he playing?

Has nothing to do with his talent ability. He and Coach L have "disagreed" on some things in the past.
