I was glad to see Edwards with a good game...but was even more impressed with Burks and Big Z. Burks played like Thiero hitting the boards and playing solid defense...and I think the ceiling is really high for Big Z.

Or this could be to balance the last 2 games of poor shooting out and we are taking off again. A lot of Cal's freshman dominated teams have hit a lull about mid way through SEC play..(I think it's the added workload of College Basketball). Hopefully they have gotten it out of their system and are ready to roll now.

Didn't Lincoln go through a similar witch hunt in Girls basketball a few years back?

Because all of the community HS schools that came together in consolidation had basketball teams...Stanford HS may have been the only school to have played football. LC historians can tell how many small communities had HS's before consolidation but there were quite a few. LC is a large county land mass wise...lots of farming kids who had/have trouble attending summer practices... Coaching and program turnover hasn't helped either.

I don't see UK getting an out of the box up tempo coordinator. That is not what Stoops wants. It will be interesting to see if he goes back to the NFL to get his next guy. If so, It will be another position coach that wants a chance to show what he can do.

Only one person trying to stir the pot with this comment. Waggener and Sheppard are totally different players. IF you want a penetrating guard, Waggener is your guy. If you want a set it up and get everyone involved Shepperd maybe be better. I think they play well together. I don't think this team has had to play without Shepperd this year, so we don't know what that will look like. I do think Shep is a defensive liability (he ball watches too much) but all of them could improve. I am sure that U of L would love to have either one of them!

Sounds great...mandatory dead week 1st week of October...dead week over x mas break, and a dead week 1st week of April to go along with 2 week dead period in summer.

I just looked...they played Boyle Co the week after their open week (Fall Break)...now we know, had they practiced, they surely would have beaten Boyle by a couple of TD's!

I know that I have heard Mayfield, Bowling Green, Owensboro to name a few that have taken the week of fall break off if they don't have a game. I am pretty sure that I heard Campbellsville may also do this. I guess those aren't successful programs.

Another black eye with cowardice administration towards the coaching profession!

I thought our guys ran out of juice last night. Mitchell was definitely fatigued...Cal has gone from one extreme South Carolina where he over substituted to last night where he didn't sub enough.

That's the problem with Rupp...I have been to tons of games. The crowd 95% of time is waiting on the team to give them a reason to cheer, instead of being hype and loud regardless of the play on the court.

Maybe FC admin hadn't given him assistant stipends and he found a way to leverage things and get those stipends?

There is a direct correlation with Moore's rise on the UM staff and their success on the field. I would give him a chance to prove me wrong if I were the UM brass.

Is Pulaski co a better job than Franklin right now? Only upside I can see is that 5A might not be as loaded as 4A.

Boyle County Basketball/Football question
Rest is important, but these are 15-19 year old young men. A workout in the morning, won't have a ton of bearing 12 hours later from a fatigue stand point.

Boyle County Basketball/Football question
The body is a system...if it gets used to working out during any "season" it function better staying in that routine. Where you get into problems is if you take periods of time off and/or on.

Boyle County Basketball/Football question
I wonder if NBA guys lift or train on gamedays. Maybe they all lay around and just show up to the arena an hour or 2 before games each night.

I think the rotation needs to be Z for Mitchell and leave Bradshaw and Onyenso alone...Mitchell was giving 35+ minutes, I would think he would be more effective giving 28 minutes and Z getting those other 12. Cal had Onyenso and Bradshaw together with Edwards in first half...that looked bad as well.

I thought Cal's substitutions were bad...I think adding Z to the mix, messed him up. Dillingham was hot early and he took him out...I thought he was quick to jerk Shep and big Z after mistakes.

If both sides know they have each other...what is the point of Thursday interviews or delaying the process? Seems like you would be wasting peoples time!

Kentucky 105 Georgia 96
Edwards is obviously struggling. Shep is definitely better and has more production...but IF Edwards figures it out...this teams ceiling is much higher. Shepperd is going to be a constant force no matter if he comes off the bench or not. Now if Big Z is going to play like that every game...Edwards role should be diminishing soon.

I thought you wanted him starting?

I would love to see Cal play all 4 guards together with one of the bigs… I know folks think they would get killed in the glass… but those 4 guards are a competitive, I think they would find a way to rebound!
