There's nothing better than attending a game at Rupp. I'm not ashamed to say that it makes me emotional and I tear up during the pregame video when it goes through the history. Whenever I go again nex

I do think Edwards would be seeing less playing time if Theiro was available at that position all he has to play is Burkes and he cannot get it done or go with 3 guards and Mitchell and Bradshaw or O.

UK’s lowest scoring game of the season came when Sheppard started and Wagner didn’t play. It’s only one game, but doesn’t really back your thinking up. UK’s offense has been just fine all year except

Handled their business tonight. Nice all around team win.

Onyenso continues to provide some nice mins. I've been impressed with how he's done, my expectations were pretty low.

I've been pleased with his minutes as well but he's doing just about exactly what I expected him to with increased playing time.  He's an elite shot blocker that really helps muck things up in the paint.

Good win in a game that they did what they were suppose to do.

Onyenso has really improved, keep it up young man.  Feel kind of sorry for Edwards, he just looks like he’s in a fog most of the time

This team is fun to watch because of the speed and shooting, but significant defensive strides have to be made in order to be a Final Four contender.

I love the pace the offense plays at, also hate how easy our defense gives up points. That being said, we all know why Edwards started and is playing more than he should right now. Cal promised him the moon and is to afraid to bench him in favor a guy that'll actually produce, it'll hurt his recruiting. You can't sell "I'll get you to the NBA" if the recruits see he doesn't have an issue benching you if you're not performing. Instead of starting your best five and getting out to a big and early lead drives me nuts. Why make us come from behind early? Put all the pressure on the other team, then start subbing.

Nice workmanlike win, still a guy that thinks Shep should start the game, beginning of the second half, no Shep and MissSt had a 13-0 run and Cal should have taken a timeout after the first three baskets of that run, but no, he waits until they score 7 more points before using a much needed timeout and gets Shep in the game, then Ky gets their double digit lead back, just not understanding why Shep doesn’t start the game and also start the second half, Wagner doesn’t need to be starting right now, Ky plays much better when he is sitting.

I keep waiting for him to show some explosion when he drives but its like his legs died on him twice last night when he attacked and got near the rim. I keep waiting to his him flush one on someone, but maybe I should stop expecting it. It's like he's stuck in 2nd gear.

I think it would be a big mistake to mess with his current rotation. It's working.

But many will continue to ignore that and push the narrative that you are.

I think you are doing Wagner quite the disservice here. He's been playing much better, attacking the basket and finishing really well. The opening minutes of the second half were rough for him and Edwards, but he's our best player at attacking all the way to the basket and finishing. As teams start collapsing on him more, its only going to open up even more great looks for our 3, maybe 4 if you count Mitchell, sharp shooters. He's bringing that attack mode, which this team needs so they can't crowd the three point line.

I think there is a lot of value to the overall team in bringing in Dilly and Shep when Cal does. The change of pace and attack has done wonders for this team. If he changes it, people will just complain when he subs them out and brings in Edwards/Wagner later in the half.

Feels like people are suggesting they fix something that isn't current broke.

Edwards puts me a little bit in mind of Ron Mercer.  Not how they play as much as expectations versus production in the first year.  It took Mercer an entire season on a talent-laden roster to finally break out.  I just hope Edwards eventually breaks out while still in Lexington.  I have no doubt about his talent, but like MJ said, he seems to be stuck in second gear.

Wagner’s consistent turnover ratio will hurt this team more and more as the season progresses, it has already cost Ky one, maybe two more wins, this team has no chance to succeed in postseason play with the basketball in his hands. Just my opinion as I watched them play live last night and also two other home games.

I don't want the ball in his hands late, which it usually isn't. Agree completely there.

With his style of attacking the basket, it is definitely going to lead to a few more turnovers than other guys. Anyone who attacks the rim like him with strength will, but you have to have that component for them to be considered a well balanced team and able to attack you from different fronts. Limiting his minutes would be detrimental. For me, I'd much rather have that style of player early in halves than coming in at the 12 min mark just because we want Shepherd in the starting lineup. It's currently working great.

Wagner is a crucial piece for this team being successful in March/April. He brings something to the table that others really just don't. And he's been playing so much better in the past month.
