Was not at the game but I got the score from a friend on the CCH team. Anyone go to the game with details?

That's true, I was just putting some of the games that weren't very close.

Actually after looking it up, the score wasn't close it was 12-4 in the first game. Then CCH won the next 7-6, and had something like a 3 run advantage and lost in the third game. And then LCA went on to win the state finals 7-0.

In the three game series against Covington Catholic to go to state they thumped the Colonels in the first game. The score may have been close, but they were hitting the heck out of CCH's ace. The second and 3rd games were 2 of the best high school games I've ever been to with LCA winning a come-from-behind third game. Those were some big boys who could swing the bat throughout the lineup.

I think the games are scheduled at CovCath. Is this the wooden bat tournament?

Lots of errors in this one made this a very very long game. Almost 2 hours I think was the length. Of the first 7 runs for CCH, maybe 2 or 3 were earned. There were two fly pop up balls that Boone County simply could not gather. On a side note, Maile from CCH had one of his best games of the year yesterday. Solid hitting and did well to catch Farrell as he was on the mound. I was also impressed with the catcher from Boone blocking lots of bad pitches from going behind the plate. Is he a sophomore?

I am a soccer player... and I would prefer to play on Bermuda grass or natural grass, such as Highlands' field. I would say that Highlands has the best natural field this side of the state without a doubt. Ashland's is also top notch. At CovCath I played on turf my last 3 years, but grass was always my personal favorite. Although turf always made for an even bounce... just not in the rain. So in that respect, I prefer grass. But watching a football game is much less sloppy on turf, so I voted good.

Wow I figured Dixie was on a hot streak with the wins against CCH. Campbell should mark this as a solid win.

They beat the other 2 of top 3 teams in the region this past 10 days or so. That's why. They will not be #1 this week however. It's still early so rankings mean little at this point. People invest too much stock in them right now. They become accurate about 5 or 6 weeks in when everyone plays a range of teams.

WOW it's still relatively early, but I would definitely say this puts the Rocks at #1 in the state. Why did LC play mostly juniors in a game like this??

Saw this yesterday. Looks like a solid group of teams. CovCath is on a hot streak going 8-0 I believe, but dropped 2 games in a row to the same team they smacked 6-0, which must have hurt their ranking. The list looks pretty good to me.

After the spanking Boone just gave Dixie... St Henry looks like a solid team.

That is about as far as you could go. Actually when I first read the thread title I thought it was WV, and didn't look a second time and now that you point it out... that is quite a flight. Guessing they flew that is.

I would guess the same. That's a stomping. He also said AJ had a better game today but errors were still made by the team. Bleser started today for the first time.

I heard from Andrew Blazejewski that after 2 innings it was raining too badly and the game was called with the score being CCH - 12 NCC - 3 Anyone there??

Wow no problem lighting up the scoreboard for Knott.

Early on the errors will come but both teams will get it together. Sounds like lots of offense in this one.

:sssh: Sorry had to say something. but anyway it sounds like a good start to the season for Ryle winning some games, and again putting up an impressive amount of runs. Can't wait to see them this weekend in Park Hills.

I was not at the game so I cannot make a comment about that. I enjoy people posting about the games including the negative sides. It's just the same as Team A in basketball. If Team A's best player has a poor game... I expect people to say he had a bad game. If AJ made some bad plays... then say he made the bad plays. I do have the problem with saying that CCH seems to have "padded" Severson's batting average.

I hope this is a joke. Severson was the best player in the region last year, and a year later you're trying to downplay what he did.

Good win for Boone. Brossart has a solid team this year. Good upcoming games for them this weekend.
