I still can't believe Apollo won the 3rd region... now all of a sudden they are playing for a STATE CHAMPIONSHIP?? How crazy is March Madness. Cinderella lives to play the last game of the hs basketball season.

The shoe cheer wasn't a premiditated cheer like the boxing was. The shoe just kind of happened when another team lost a shoe. But they were both good.

Was POY announced?

CovCath loses one of its better tennis players in Joey Westling. Foot injury. Great kid, hate to see him end like this. However, CCH should win the region and make it 4 in a row I believe.

That's pretty awesome. I actually stayed with the guy who did the boxing cheer Wednesday night at UK, and we were talking about that cheer the night before and hoping it would get the desired reaction. It obviously did. That cheer was actually thought up at school Wednesday morning and was set into motion within a few hours. That is how well choreographed the CCH section is. At the pep rally, it was explained and the seniors showed the school how it was to be done.

His son's team didn't have a bad showing either, really gave the #2 seed a scare.

Haha that would be awesome. The state didn't issue that trophy though, the Votel family did.

How exactly did it go? Was the commissioner giving out awards to the cheerleaders, and what did she say about our section?? Any info is helpful.

Couldn't the team be held accountable for this also? If they failed to recognize the same play 80% of the time... that seems to me that they were outsmarted on the floor, not the sidelines.

Is this is the first game?

Football games are fun also, but it seems as if it is less noticable because with the gym atmosphere, it will get LOUD. Outdoors, it seems to be more quiet.

Some may say that the 04 section was better, simply because it was CCH's first statewide exposer and people were somewhat shell shocked, plus the 04 section (which I was also a part of) had more time to work with - 3 games as opposed to 1. However, this year's group had some new cheers that involved the whole section such as the boxing one and the roller coaster. I'd say both were about even, being part of both.

Basketball should never ever be classified. All A teams usually compete and just because there is a down year for the small schools that is nothing to change the whole system around for.

Did you follow CCH at all? They were destroying teams in the tournament. One poor game, losing by only 4, and all of a sudden they are overrated? That is a misinformed statement at best. #1 was high for them, but they were still good. They were most likely a top 4 or 5 team that would contend.

Great job today. I'll miss being in it. MJK, you guys better keep up the tradition we worked hard to build. BTW, the boxing cheer was unvailed today for Rupp Arena specially, it was a tryout cheer and it seemed to go well. The wave was cool, and Rupp got to ride the roller coaster. Wish we had more time down there.

CovCath had every opportunity to win this game. They shot very poorly, and Apollo was able to capitalize... that is what a sweet 16 team should do. It was somewhat frustrating to see CCH play the best ball of the year during the region, winning by an average of about 14 points per game, then have such a poor shooting day today. BTW, the Apollo fans were nothing but class acts. One guy even came up to us after the game and complimented our section for about 5 minutes, and we must have received 15 other compliments on the way to the car. Not a bad group of people to lose to. Good luck Apollo tomorrow against Mason.

At school today there were various clips from the 04 Rupp Arena CCH cheering section show and the Colonel Crazies are fired up to take over Rupp once again. Things have been added... roller coaster is said to be the new thing... but watch out for a new thing... one hint... boxing...
