:thumb: The difference is lost on many coaches/players/fans and I have heard them from the sidelines and stands just going nuts over a legit issue, ... if it were an NFL or collegiate game. It would make it much better if more of the fans understood the differences in what they watch on Friday night from what they see on Saturday and Sunday!

JV was undefeated, but the frosh team is relatively weak. The incoming frosh class is very solid, but a few years from bringing anything to the table yet. North also brings back a lot of talent in Fugate, Rotundi, Wagers, Williams and several lineman. They will be fine.

I think you are right. He did a very good job in getting this team to start to turn the corner last season and he knows how to build a program. Chris is high energy and the players feed off of that. He loves the game and it is contagious. He can also bring players back to earth if they have someone whispering in their ear how great they are. He has some big shoes to fill from some of the graduation losses, but so do most coaches. I believe what they need to do is just keep with the plan and work hard. The rest will fall into place.

Find a way to replace their graduation losses. Wardrup - leading rusher (2 straight seasons over 1,000 yards) Shears - leading receiver (#2 in 5A and averaged over 22 yards per rec, PLUS was a standout defensive safety) Prewitt/Yantis - the heart and soul of that defensive line Baker - led the team in tackles at over 15 tackles per game Sapcut - pure emotion on the field, great spirit They still have a great deal of talent in the upcoming senior class. I think they have several backs who can share the load Wardrup had the past few years (Wagers, Williams and Rotundi come to mind). They don't have that over 6' WR that they had in Shears. If they can have a few more of this talented upcoming senior class step up along with some more of those younger guys step up, they could be as good, if not better than this past year's team. A full season under their belts with Coach Larkey and Coach Sams defense. Another off season in the weight room, and they will be fine. PLAYER TO WATCH FOR Jason Williams. Mark it down. This kid has TONS of ability and this coming fall will be his time to shine. I saw flashes of it this past year and expect him to step up HUGE this fall.

I am hoping to go. Depends on what all I have left to do on Saturday. Hopefully, I can make it.

Who is going to this game? I am wanting to go as one of the kids I have been assisting in getting his information out to colleges is playing. After sitting in the cold at the Music City Bowl, I don't know if I want to freeze my tail off again! My feet still haven't warmed up from that game.

I believe their best record was 7-3 with a first round playoff loss (7-4 total record) the season before he left the first time. That was with Al Holland as his junior QB. Any other names popping up on this job? I haven't heard anything lately.

How many winning records have they had without Browne as the head coach?

Why does recruiting always come down to being a D1 recruit? There are TONS of schools at the D1AA, D2 and NAIA levels who do offer athletic scholarship money.

That is not true at all. I have worked with kids for the past 8 years who got scholarships and were not better than some others that had 0 offers. You have to get your information out there as well. There are over 200 football teams in Kentucky alone. If you figure that there are only 40 on each team, that is 8,000 kids. You think any college coach knows about all those teams and all those kids and their ability to play? The smaller schools also don't have the recruiting budgets that the larger schools have and are often limited to a much smaller geographic area. Just because you are a good player doesn't mean that college coaches have no idea who you are and if you can play. How many college scouts do you see at the average high school game?

Are you saying that a coach can make players better? Are you serious? He can draw up an offense the utilizes the talents of his team? That is MADNESS I tell you, MADNESS!!! :sssh:

But it doesn't happen without the offensive unit being coached up on what to do. There are 11 guys on the field for each team and each person has a responsibility. If they don't complete their assignment, Hayden doesn't get to showcase his abilities.

The district was not weak. The teams were not on the level of Highlands (but who was), but it was not a 'very weak' district. I am not a fan of Browne's at all, but he has done more with the talent at PCC than any other coach that has coached them.

What has PCC ever done when he wasn't the coach? Hazard has an excellent football program and PCC is still trying to build one. He has done more with what talent PCC has than anyone else who has been there. There is more talent at MC and if he got the job, I think he would do a good job.

As far as seeing them live, it would have been Caleb Watkins from Corbin. On highlights, McShara, Collinsworth & Simpson. Didn't get to see Andrews but understand he was a stud.

Yes and no. Many coaches do not have the time or enough assistants to pull this off. However, I agree 110% that they should help the kids, ... but firstly by being honest at what collegiate level, if any, they have the ability to play at. I have seen both sides. Some coaches who don't do anything and some others who tell kids they are much better than they really are. If the kid has the ability and the desire, then some of the responsibility lays on their shoulders (and their family) as well. It is not entirely the coach's responsibility to get their players looked at. Every kid I have worked with has/had the desire to play at the next level and the coach, family and player worked together with me to put together their information. You cannot put this entirely on the coaches shoulders, but I do agree that they have some responsiblity to help. Many coaches would talk to their players, and some coaches have had me come talk to their players to tell them that if they are interested in playing in college, there are some things THEY need to do in order to pursue that desire.

I think Bert Browne is a terrific coach. I think he used to be an assistant at MC years ago and may have played there as well. The best football seasons that PCC has ever had were with Coach Browne at the helm.
