Revealing my age here, but.... as an 8th grader, I watched Duncan Jacobs, senior QB at Harlan, have a rushing TD, a throwing TD, a kick-return TD, and an INT TD in the same game. Later in the year, he threw 2 TDs, one right-handed and one left-handed, in the same game.

Are there any rules governing middle school spring or off-season practice? Some teams in our area are rumored to be practicing now through summer in full gear with full contact several times per week. Just curious...

We need a thread for best Harlan County WR with the most TDs per catch in their senior season. :jump:

Congratulations to Evarts on a solid season and much improvement throughout. As for Paintsville, the stats on Pugh, in a tough playoff game, make him my favorite Region 4 player, surpassing Chafin. Is he a senior? If so, does he have a college to play for?

This is Lynn Camp's year...they have stayed healthy, Paintsville has not...Camp 35-22.

It is hard to pick anyone to win at Bell...Bobcats by 7.

Ashland at home will be extremely tough, but Rock had Bell beat at Bell, and Coach Larkey is one of the best....Rock 24-22.

Somerset should win a very good game...Jumpers are a bit better, considering all positions, and are at home.

Jon Lundy, QB/DB, Harlan, not your typical mold of QB...he doesn't "wow" you with flashy footwork, a hyped-up arm, or terrific speed...and he plays in an offense that runs 90% of the time, but he is absolutely the toughest player on Harlan's team, if not Class A, District 7. He plays and does whatever is asked on offense, defense and special teams (and he is asked to do just about everything), and he plays as hard as anyone, even when often banged up, though most don't know because he refuses to show it (makes his toughness even more impressive). He is a junior, about 5'8", about 170. He has accepted team discipline on occasion without a problem; he is the biggest cheerleader for his teammates when not in the game; and, IMO, he would do anything asked including move from QB if best for the team. Teddy Thompson is Harlan's most publicized player, but Lundy's toughness provides the team's attitude.
