Avid, your team would struggle against Floyd Central, you might beat them, but you would not stop their RB. Nobody did last year and he is bigger this year. I'll keep everyone posted on them this year.

Male defeats Ballard 26-16, very hot day and humid for both teams, Male Jumped out early but the Bruins fought back to cut a 14-0 to 20-16. Male scored and used a ground game to run out 6 minutes of the 4th quarter. Ballard has some players, very good QB and some hard running backs. They have great size, we all thought they were the JV team. Male's next game is at Central Hardin on September 1st. Good luck to all the freshman teams in the state.

On Offense one returning starter, RB, on defense two. 2010 they had a very nice bunch of seniors, RB/Tight End/DE all got schlorships. Like the previews in CJ/BGPs, there are some inexperince, but by the time it counts they will be experinced. Every team they play this year except one Butler, won last nite Butler did not play. On a side note the freshman had an opening victory over a very good Ballard team. 26-16, the Bruins will beat some teams and the future looks very bright. The puppies played also very hard and during the heat held on. The kicker kicked off very well and hit two extra points, with a miss and a block. His Mama was very happy.

Yep, I saw it. Male is on the four yard line after a nice run and a holding call brought it back to the 20 there is a about two minutes left, game over. I can't comment on the call. We wasn't given a number, so I couldn't tell if it was a good call.

I just hope the Refs were in shape, sometimes you can have some who need to lose a few.

I really like the way the Kentucky All Stars have beaten the Tennessee stars the past few years they played, and every time the Cats lose to the Vols it just makes me not feel well.

I have said on here several times I pull for the Jefferson County schools when they play out side the County, and this of couse goes for the out of state schools. I also have stated in the past how when I travel and high school football conversation comes up I always speak well for the Rocks/X. Male plays at Floyd Central on friday and FC has a very good team and a running back who hurt them last year and he is a very good one. If the Rock/X fans don't pull for Male thats fine, I only do what I want to do and what seems fair. I don't really care for Tennessee in any case in concerning football. Ohio, its about the same. But I believe Ohio plays a better brand of football.

A high school national championship has to be a joke, who votes for it when the season is over? There is no way the voters can see all the games/teams to give a fair vote. How is a pre season top 25 determined? You surly cannot compare scores with each other. Look at the area of the nation, does a one loss Texas team still better than an undefeated team from Georgia? A team beats # 1 rated Prattville, now does that team which wasn't even thought of go to the top ten? Someone want to help me on this?

My son went to the same Middle school as Quick, but Quick left the school, and I'm going to bed.

BF, was she at the Male practice game? I also enjoy going to games at Trinity, and Guru made a very thoughful comment and the first time we agreed on a point in a long time. (D1 farm) I have had this conversation for a long time, why don't more kids go to UK/UL (other D1) from Trinity? Brian/Jordan/Tim/ Kicker Rob/Robey, I know there are a lot more but not what you would think.

As I stated earlier you want to look good but you don't want to show much or have a really nice player get hurt, it was a practice game, and Friday everything changes, I admire the Birds in playing the game and how hard they played, but sometimes you just get beat, and you move on.

I like Alabama or Virginia Tech. Our D is gonna be real strong, need solid QB play.

Will the special teams play, kickoffs and so forth, or is the ball placed at the 20 and they run 10 plays? Punts also? Sorry if its been asked before, now as a football nut I'd love to seee this scrimmage game.

I know its a big difference in the NFL, but look at their practice games, a bunch of key players don't even play, now they have 4 games and have to make cuts and high schools don't, but I think the kids want to play hard but the coaches control who play and whay play they run. My son is on the special team and a lot of these games don't use special teams, and some teams can/will score on SPs.

No one answered my question on the middle school that feed the Birds/Rocks, or did they, I might have missed it. No matter how much money/pull/grades/ at Manual and Male you just can't walk up and go to school there. I meet parents a lot (team Mom at Male and a neighbor with a very smart child) who are trying to get their child into these programs and a lot are trying who don't play sports. Male has been a round since the 1800s.
