All Tell, try and call the school board and ask more about the Traditional Program. Kids just can't pick on due to where they live, its Jefferson County. I know a lot parents who can't get kids in and some have children at different schools. RP, you played the Rebels many times how many times have you lost to them? Iroquois (not counting the scrimmage in 1970) Here is a reason...I donate $10K to Male and the money has to be shared with all sports. Trinity, I have no idea tell us. We have to share this $ with the ladies too and our fields. Trinity? We have had three coaches all from Jefferson County. Trinity goes on a nation wide search. Advantage? You Tell me. My son had three classes 6-1/6-2/6-3 in his eighth grade there are 8-1/8-2 they lose kids to grades and some have left and got into Trinity. PM and I'll share it with you, if you are interested. Advantage who? Male got their field done way before Iroquois had light problem. Male can't start lifting to a certain time period, I don't know about Trinity. Spring practice same guidelines, I don't know and will not post on things I don't know (See Tradition comment of Male picking kids) I had a buddy from out of town see these posts, he asked "what kind of field do the school has that you are debating?" I just looked at him. Now back to my slop.

I've been to every high schools place in the city, a lot of them are not very good, is that Male's fault. Debate is not ended just because you want it to. Whats the hurry. JCPS couldn't even do Middle school football because of money. I coach at a middle school and cannot get a playing field for the soccer's team as we speak. We are gonna have find to field a grass field and do it our selves, can you give me the contact person at Trinity? Is their field being used during the spring? Its about the kids man. Now, having a son playing at Male they could have scored a lot more than 50, we all know some schools just can't compete. I remember some Atherton scores when they were in your district, how come you didn't mention that point? Debate is over? Nope...

RP, I've never said anything about buying players and never will, your words dude. Now, give me some reason Male has it so much better than the other Pubs, we have several months until late June. Soccer players usually help the football team, I'm sure we have some really nice kickers coming up, I happen to have a DVD of one, come by and we can watch it. I don't mind talking high school football, but lets try to stay on a platform where we can doing it with out the over bearing remarks and I'm calling out myself as the lead guy. We can do it.

tcj,, both QBs /two RBs/ and several more kids that played last year. They need to find a kicker. If we cannot get up for this one...Rocks play these teams and by state tourney time they will be tough to handle. I always have believed you play the best and in the end it helps you...SEC West.

Hoosire, we are very strict school on grades, a weekly slip is signed, and a "D" holds you out for the week. we are the only school in the county to do this, we are talking about 7th/8th graders which has nothing to do with coach Dale, we only had 10 players to play with anyway. Ok, I've moved on back to the Rocks.

Also I coached a 8th grade soccer team, we had kids miss games due to grades , we had 6 against Noe Middle school the class of our county, we were down 8-0 at the half, my played goalie in the second and shut them out, 6 against 21 kids. They didn't play on the defensive side the whole game. We could have walked before the game...like I said you don't know me.

Hoosier, so you are a Highland fan, why are you wasting my time for crying out loud? I went to Iroquois High school and played football, I have two sons that went to Atherton, but didn't play football, they played soccer. Talk to me when you walk in my shoes, other wise your comments are not valid. Highlands???? Oh, I'm just not sure how to end this Highlands???? WOW!

Hoosier, I am a coach, not football, but why are you judging me if I was one, you don't know me, you have no right. Are you from Jefferson County? Does your school play the Rocks, and have they played them in the last 20/10 years/ Do you understand the concept of the Private school/Public schools debate? I do, so I'll wait for your reply. I was told several years by someone after My son's Male (public school) team lost to the Rocks as time ran out, it was heart breaking for us, but the better team won, "I was told we need to try harder". Male also has lost every time since then. I saw almost every practice my son went thru for four years, "need to try harder" was a very degracefull comment and it hurt me when to think we didn't give all we could in that game and season, I just use the phrase as a "joke" so I'll again wait for your reply.

Maybe some teams are just getting tired of losing, after a while it gets old. I guess we just have to try harder. I didn't start the thread.

One thing I didn't think about was the Insurance. But they could still do no contact drills.

Just wondering...Can a 8th grader go to a spring practice and kinda of work out? No contact, just go thru some drills. the kid has to be accepted into the high school for the next year. I know we have the no 8th grade play rule and I'm fine with it, but does anyone know if this is OK for a spring practice?

As a lover of the Bone this was very imformative by Bluejacket. Coach Bryant 1971 sent his whole staff to Texas and they stayed quite a while in learning the Triple Option. We lost 10 games in the 10 years.

Some of our coaches were there, I like this kid.

Higgs/Homer/Collins/ is there some backs from Kentucky high schools that did very well?

Shaun said in his book that the Cats didn't recruit him very hard. His final two choices were Michigan/Bama. Hal Mumme was the coach or maybe Bill Curry when Shaun was a senior. His older brother was at ND. I believe the high school numbers are close and I believe Miles could be a great back, only time has to play out.

NFL MVP/Madden is a pretty good highlite. Shaun also set many records in college that has a nice tradition.

Shaun was a poor practice player and Coach Gene Stallings was a Junction boy, not a good mix. The LSU game Shaun was the third back behind Curtis/Dennis Riddle. he and his room mate stayed up late playing video games, and felt bad all day. He also forgot his game cleats and had to use his practice ones. Shaun is still a favorite of the Bama folks.

We have a Cadillac, with a sunroof, and more. Its paid for. ALLTELL, I mentioned where I/sons went to school and we support those schools for years. Male has lost to Central/Ballard/Manual/Eastern/Butler/ and had narrow wins against many others. They also lost in the four years my son went there to John Hardin/Central Hardin/Trinity/ in the playoffs. Male has also lost to Meade County. So I wasn't ignoring it at all, it serves my point very well if we compared scores. Very few runnning clocks for Male They also barely won over Floyd Central this past year who ended up having a very good team.

RockMom, I played at Iroquois. I have two sons who went to Atherton. Not football hotbeds, I want to win, yes, Its a human nature thing. Do you remember the late 60s/early 70s with UCLA winning the NCAAs almost every year? People like change, I said put yourselves in our shoes, not live in them. The numbers don't lie, fiftyeight straight is a lot. When my son was at Male I went to almost every practice for four years, I worked the fields/chains/ my wife was team mom with other ladies, we sold things, fed the team, brought treats on hot days. Thanks for your imput, and I've learned some things from everyone.

I want to say I think Trinity and X are great schools, and when you mention sports and see them win at soccer, swimming, golf, Cross country, tells us that they have great coaching too. I raised some nioce points and no one has came back, an analogy of beating my son in ping pong and needing to play someone better to make me better. Has anyone put themselves in our shoes for a moment, I read about sponsers in the paper, maybe I should used schlorships, and I think its great kids can get into these schools, I have a friend who got in and he had several brothers who went public route, because of the cost. Maybe a super 7A conference for them and include Male/Manual/other privates, and leave the others in 6A. I would like to still play the privates, Male is 3rd in the nation in wins. Thanks for the many insights, I don't hate the privates I hate satan.
